If you see me on Facebook at all, you know the girls and I LOVE going to Denny’s. We can all get what we want, the food is good and the atmosphere is most certainly kid acceptable. Aside from that and 5 other reasons why it is Cool to Eat at Denny’s, it is a company with a purpose outside of serving a variety of food that allows everyone to be happy! Through their Share Our Strengths No Kid Hungry partnership, they are dedicated to making sure kids everywhere get to eat when they are hungry and eat well!
It has been shown that a staggering amount of kids – 1 in 5 (1 in 4 inTexas!! ) do not have access to breakfast. Studies have shown that kids who eat school breakfast are more apt to attend class, perform better on standardized tests and, as a result, are 20 percent more likely to graduate high school. We all want every kid out there to have the same that our kids have, I know we do. Donating through Denny’s is an easy, beneficial way to help No Kid Hungry donate over 34 MILLION meals to kids who need them!
How can you help? In 4 awesome and easy ways! All are active until September 30, 2014 so get on your car, open your computer or Text to make a difference!
- In-store: Donate $3, get $9 worth of Denny’s coupon in return (and sign a pledge to end hunger) – these coupons are AWESOME! Basically, for $3, you get coupons worth three times that much. So you are really earning $6 on the deal. The coupons include freebie items and savings on your overall meal. Either way, you will use them and know that when you do, you have made a child out there very happy with a meal.
- Online: visit dennys.com/nokidhungry to donate and get a coupon for $5 off your next meal at Denny’s – we ALL love to save on meals! I would use these $5 off coupons on Kid’s Eat Free nights (on Tuesday’s and other nights, check your local Denny’s) to save a TON on a meal everyone will love. As little as $1 can connect a child to a meal!
- Text: Text ‘dennys’ to 877877, get information on how to donate and get a coupon for $5 off your next meal at Denny’s – this one is SO easy! Just text, get the info, donate and get your coupon! This one is easily passable to friends. Get everyone together and make a difference in a hurry!
- T-shirts: visit dennys.com/nokidhungry to buy one of three t-shirts for $10 designed by three Denny’s team members in Texas, Nevada and Kentucky; proceeds from the shirts go directly to No Kid Hungry – and the team member whose design the sells the most by the end of the campaign wins $300, a paid day off and Denny’s CEO John Miller will personally cover one of their shifts! I don’t know about you, but I want to see the CEO in the trenches!! So my girls are going to pick their shirts and help make that happen!
No Kid Hungry is not a money earning campaign for anyone. It is a way for Denny’s to give back to the community with your help. In fact, if it were not for programs like this, the amount of kids going hungry on an annual basis would be even more shocking. If I can afford to buy a latte at the nearest coffee shop, I can afford to donate a little here and there to help this program succeed. I can give the kids that sit next to mine in class the same blessing and opportunity to succeed and excel just like I want my kids to!
DONATE NOW and SHARE this too! Spend the day smiling because you know you made a difference!
I love Denny;s so much, but sadly we don’t have one near us. I always look for them when we travel!
Oh bummer! Maybe one will come soon!
We have a Denny’s one minute from my house. Literally, one minute. It’s awesome.
Very cool!! It’s not far from us either :)

I love it when big companies give back. It makes me want to support them just because they care about their communities! Thanks for sharing.
I love it when companies give back like this. No child should be hungry. Period.

We recently started eating at Denny’s again after years of not going. I love it! This campaign makes them even better in my eyes.
Bummed that they closed the Denny’s near me. What a great program, l looking out for children!
It is so sad to think about kids going without, but it happens too often around these parts.
Ugh, I hate that we have this issue… no child should ever be hungry and I commend Denny’s for doing something about it.
My family and I are die hard fans of Denny’s! Their food is always so good, as well as the staff. This program is wonderful and only helps me to see them in an even better light!

This is awesome! I am familiar with the No Kid Hungry program but I didn’t realize that Denny’s had partnered with them!
What a great partnership! Ending hunger needs to be more of a priority in this country! We have SO much food!
I had no idea they had paired up! This is such a great cause, just perfect! I could go for some french toast right about now.
I’ll have to see where a Denny’s is near us. It’s so sad that childhood hunger is so prevalent these days but this is a great partnership to support.
I may just have to pick up one of the t-shirts to help support the cause. I love that they do this.
I didn’t know Denny’s was participating in this! Love the campaign and will have to plan a dinner out!
