The morning routine around here has been known to send me into tears! Most of the time, though, I set my self up the night before for a successful morning. The kids and I choose their clothes, I prep any lunch I might be making and we talk through the morning. It works most of the time. But the most important prep I do is prepare early for great breakfasts! It’s important to start any day with a nutritious breakfast full of protein and grains, like Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats, Special K or Raisin Bran cereal and milk.
For years now I have set out the cereal boxes, the spoons and the fun bowls so that my kids are all ready for breakfast. By having it already out, I escape the ‘What’s for breakfast?’ question. In addition, having it out reminds them that they need to take the time to sit and eat.
When I know I am going to have a crazy morning before an event, I take the time to make a list of what needs to be accomplished the next morning the night before. This is especially helpful when traveling with kids. As the kids eat their cereals, I check of the list one by one. I love that I leave the house knowing I got everything! This is always a go-to when anything is different about the morning routine!
Now, I have a choosy child in my youngest. Many evenings we set our clothing out and then she decides she does not like them the next morning. It is borderline infuriating, I won’t lie. So now we put two outfits on the foot of her bed and she has to wear one. It is working so far! Fingers crossed!
Preparing for a successful morning is easier when you plan the night before. Whether it be a trip, a big event in the kids loves or any other day that can be amazing, prepping with a great breakfasts like cereals from Kellogg’s can only help make it great!
