There are so many reasons that I exercise almost daily and that I choose CrossFit as my sport. I feel better, I look better and the exercise and accomplishment only enhances my life. It is the one time during the day that I can focus on me. Not work. Not my schedule. Not the kids. But me. But the sport does not come without aches and pains of working hard. I wear them as a sort of pride. But when those pains get in the way of my workout, I go looking for products that can help me prevent them to begin with. Just as I use grips to keep my hands from tearing on the bars and gloves to keep the barbells from tearing up my thumbs, I now use SelectFlex® and their iFlex Technology™ to adjust away foot pain that comes from the demanding sport! I have been using them for about a month now and am happy to report that I can exercise without foot pain as a result!
What are they?

How do they work?

You can adjust them for your personal and comfortable needs. From Medium support to Firm support to Extra Firm support, the inserts help to balance your feet so you have a painless shoe.
I used these the first time a few weeks back at CrossFit. I started out on Medium while I got used to them in my shoe. They are thin and flexible and fit my foot making my shoes even more comfortable than they were before.
After about a week I adjusted them to Firm. I have seen even more comfort and less pain as I jump on boxes, land on the floor from pull-ups and run. A little while ago I upped the support to Extra Firm but went back down as that setting was too firm for my foot needs.
That is the wonderful thing about these adjustable orthotics. They are CUSTOM to your feet and your needs but are a fraction of the cost of medical orthotics.
Why we need them as we age
I am 45 years young. While I am energetic, happy and feeling young, I am aging. As a woman and a single mom I am always on my feet. I even work standing up sometimes because sitting takes too much time. In fact, the average woman walks 3 miles more per day than the average male.[i]
As we age, those miles can really start to be painful. Typically in a person’s 30-40’s, the natural fat pads on the bottoms of the feet made from collagen and elastin gradually thin out, causing foot pain by the end of the day unless properly cushioned footwear is worn.[i]
I am sure that is what is happening to me! Gone are the days of regular tennis shoes feeling comfortable.
Now that I have SelectFlex®, I feel like my shoes work for me now instead of against me!

Once you get them home, remove the insert that came with your shoe. They should be fairly easy to remove.
Slide the SelectFlex® adjustable orthopedic into your shoe, smoothing out the toe.
Should there be overlap, use scissors to trim them up from the toe area.
Once they fit perfectly, use the Adjuster Key to set your firmness.
Be sure to line the black pointer guide with the white notch to adjust.
As I did, try them out for a little while before going up a notch to your perfect comfort level!
