It’s Minion time!! That’s right! Despicable Me 3 Special Edition is now available on Blu-ray & DVD! It is time to celebrate and to plan that Holiday Family Movie night that will create memories for years to come! The girls and I were lucky enough to get an advanced copy of the Special Edition and that called for a fun holiday craft to go along with a fun family movie night! It’s cold outside so Easy Minion Gingerbread Cookies were a definite hit!
Before I go into the ‘How to’, however, lets talk about this funny and entertaining family movie that is the third in a line of celebrated hits!
Illumination, the studio that brought you Sing, The Secret Life of Pets and the Despicable Me franchise, continues the adventures of Gru and his family in Despicable Me 3. After he is fired from the Anti-Villain League for failing to take down Balthazar Bratt, the latest evil mastermind to threaten humanity, Gru finds himself in the midst of a major identity crisis. But when a mysterious stranger shows up to inform Gru that he has a long-lost twin brother — a brother who desperately wishes to follow in his twin’s despicable footsteps — the former super-villain rediscovers just how good it feels to be bad.
The #1 animated comedy of the year, Despicable Me 3 is the ultimate holiday gift with an All-New Mini Movie, Minion Moments and more! The Walmart exclusive features a limited time gift set with a super soft, PLUSH Minion backpack! My kids LOVE this backpack and wear it just to be ‘in fashion’. It is a fun addition to the pack!
My girls love this movie and can relate to it as three little girls themselves! The characters beloved by everyone – Gru, his wife Lucy, their three adorable daughters—Margo, Edith and Agnes—and the Minions provide hours of family fun in this heartwarming comedy. My kids love to put on shows as the characters because they are so beloved.
Now onto the cookies! I used a prepackaged Gingerbread Cookies mix because, let’s face it, the decorating is the most fun part!
Here is what you need:
- Gingerbread cookie mix
- Yellow icing
- Black writing icing
- Red writing icing
- Green writing icing
- Eyeballs
- Mix the gingerbread cookies together and, using a knife, cut a minion shape body. I just did the body shape to make life easy.
- Bake the cookies at the temperature recommended on your package.
- Once cool, ice the bodies with the yellow icing.
- Add the eyes and then draw on the stripes for the glasses stripes and the belts!
- You can get really creative and add some Santa hats or other holiday cheer, too!
These are way too much fun to make and even more fun to eat!
Plan your holiday movie night now with Despicable Me 3!
