The closet tip
Keep only two sets of sheets, for each bed in your home.
Thanks i am glad i read that article because i must say im so stressed when i am not organize and it really gets over whelming and it just get worst if i am not organize. I actually loved all the tips so having to choose would be the tips on my clothes its really hard to throw away clothes i have so much of it but nothing i wear i either grew out of it or its definitely out of style i am really going to book mark that and come back tomorrow and follow her tips i will accomplish all of it within this month.
Making your bed every day is a great habit to get into. Encouraging your children to do the same is a way to teach good habits!
my favorite tip is
Clean your makeup drawer:
I liked the tips for cleaning and organizing tbe closet. I really have a hard time gettimg rid of clothes
I like the tip about getting the kids involved. It might take longer but it good for them to help and learn this for themselves!!
My favorite tip so far:
Give your clothing closet an easy face lift:
Return
ugly metal hangers to the drycleaners for recycling. Replace with good
quality, heavy, plastic hangers. One color ONLY. One color encourages
uniformity…easy to put away, easy to retrieve.
Hang clothes on NEW hangers. This fresh new look may even inspire you to work on other organizing projects.
I thought about this the other day and still haven’t done it! I probably should get with the program!
i liked organizing the clothing closet since my closet is a huge mess! I do start off by grouping but them it becomes time consuming
Favorite one is to clean your makeup drawer!! Very much in need of it!
Getting the kids involved is great… teaches them good habits to carry on.. and making the bed every morning. A bedroom looks so much better with a made bed!
After dealing with the mail issue, I really need to organize my closet! My husband has a ton of clothing and it just keeps growing! I need to purge and organize! Thanks for the help!
I’ve been trying to organize my closet for months. It is a working progress!
The closet organizing tips were my favorite btw.
Mail is a huge dilema at my house as I am sure it is with most bloggers! I like the sort the mail over the recycle bin before you open any of it. No sense in keeping useless clutter!
Making your bed everyday
My favorite tip is Throw away old makeup. Try to throw
away half.
I like
Make your bed EVERY DAY – I believe in that!
jill24295@yahoo.com
I can clean the whole house in a week by doing one room a day, that way I don’t overexert myself.
I like the closet organizing tips
I like the tip about sorting mail when you first bring it in the house.
I love the very first tip – about just cause it looks neat doesn’t mean it’s organized. I had a real lesson in this when I went to my storage building this weekend, and wasn’t able to get to my Spring clothes without moving almost everything in there. The next trip will hopefully include some shelves so I can make it more user-friendly.
I like “Before bed, have your kids pick up their toys, and toss into designated storage
bins”…will have to start this :)
I like the tip to make your bed everyday. I do!!
I like the tip on keys to donating
The article about kids cleaning up their mess is so true!! I’ve learned to just let them play and then pick up at the end of the day. It does no good to pick up all threw the day.
I like the tip about old makeup. I really need to use the tips and get rid of half!
OMG, my husband is right about making up the bed everyday. I hate it when he’s right.
I like to sort mail (5 Minutes) in front of the trash
I love mail tip! I seem to be following that pattern but gave me some tips to contribute to my process..thanks :)
Organizing the Clothing Closet:
Most people do not start a project, because they know it will be time consuming. With this in mind, I suggest that you work this project inphases. Remember, one phase completed, is one step further than you were yesterday.
Repeating it every day will help you to achieve automaticity, resulting in fewer
piles.
My fav tip is to make your bed everyday, and encourage your children to do the same. i usually dont make my bed, but this made me realize how easy it actually is and the difference it makes
My favorite tip is in the organizing your closet section. Phase 2 – Elimination. I have a hard time getting rid of clothes thinking I will wear them someday if I use this step hopefully I can get rid of some more and gain some room in my closet.
I loved the Cleaning out the Linen Closet Tip, I have that problem with odor in stored linens. I’m going to reorganize my closet and wash some!!! Yea!!!
ncjeepster@aol.com
I love the tip about the makeup. I need to complete serious cleaning with my makeup. In with the new and out with the old! Excellent tips and I am glad I read the article. Thanks!
im all about having your bed made these days…i got lazy and we really slacked off doing it….but now that ive made up a chore chart for my younger boys…i know i need to set a better example! it really makes the room seem so much cleaner too

Making your bed everyday is a good way to start
I have 2 favorite tips – I need to do better with keeping the mail organized! I need to sort it as soon as it comes and put it in its place instead of glancing at it and then tossing it in a “safe” place away from the little ones. The other tip is with my closet, I NEED to eliminate! I know I need to do this but its so hard. I am going to move that up on my to do list though!
The first one is the best and one we do everyday!! MAKE YOUR BED DAILY! :) that is the best tip…things just look better when a bed is made
Organizing the Closet tip is the one that although my closet is not messy and I don’t have an over abbundance of clothes, I am horrible about what to get rid of from the kid’s clothing in their closet. I want to hold onto so much. I’m terrible.
Orgainizing the Clothing Closet.
“Does it fit?
Will it fit before it goes out of style?
Am I likely to wear it this season?
Do I like this style?”
All of the tips are great. Some I actually do! Some I really really need to! I have gone through some of my clothing in my closet, but I have so much more work to do! The tip I will be working on is follow the directions under
Organizing the Clothing Closet:
Making the bed every day is a good tip I need to use. It would surely help in giving me a jump start for the day.
Make your bad everyday!
make your bed – I do think a made bed is more comfortable.
I really like the tip about letting the kids play all day and THEN having them pick up after themselves. That just may save me from having so many headaches! LOL
Make your bed everyday is so simple & easy anyone can do it!
rinse the shower out evryday!
What a great article! I liked the tip about getting rid of your old metal hangers and replacing them with the heavy plastic ones, all in one color to give the closet a more uniform look!
Clean out your makeup drawer. This is my fave! It’s something I NEED to do…lol
make your bed daily
Would love to win!!! Would love to have some money to organize!
Whoops! Didn’t click to see the rules first…Mail is what I need help with organizing. Ends up everywhere…car, couch, coffee table, kitchen counter, etc
Cleaning out the Linen Closet:
Whether it’s a closet in your hallway, or a cabinet in your bathroom, linen storage areas are often packed with old, un-needed items. Start with elimination..
Sheets: Keep only two sets of sheets, for each bed in your home. (This excludes cribs and baby beds) Remember your reason for purchasing new sheets. Whether it was change in color, style, or simple wear and tear, let go of the old sets.
Sheets and towels that sit, tend to soar. Bleach will not remove this odor, one cup of white distilled vinegar added to a load of laundry will.
I like the tips about organizing the closet.
My favorite tip is to sort the mail in front of the paper recycle can as soon as you bring it in.
This is nothing earth-shattering, but here goes. If you are a not so neat baker/chef, slide the cookbook or recipe card you are using into a clear zippered bag….it keeps spills and stains from getting onto the book or card.
Color blocking the closet.
I like the tip about making beds everyday. That is just what i was telling my daughter the other day about it. that it don’t have to be perfect just pull it up and puff the pillows.
My name is Sharon.
Every women loves Walmart, but not me, I love my Home Depot. All the nifty classes they offer to learn how to redo or redecorate your house. All the neat little gadgets you can buy to spruce up your place, inside and out. And they always have things on sale in the store. You all need to stop by and check them out.
LOVE the organized closet!! My closet needs major help. The tips are also great. I just hope I can put some of them to use. Thanks so much. Gail W.
Give your clothing closet an easy face lift:
mail mess
If it’s trash, trash it. If it’s good, donate it… I always have this problem!
I liked this one (take note!):
Sheets and towels that sit, tend to soar. Bleach will not remove this odor, one cup of white distilled vinegar added to a load of laundry will.
Phase 3: Returning items to closet
Remember to keep in groups of like
items. If you are hanging the items, hang them all in the same direction.
If you are stacking the items, fold in a uniform fashion (T-shirts, no more
than ten items per stack; jeans, no more than six pairs per stack; sweaters, no
more than four per stack. This will keep the stack from falling apart when you
remove an item.)
I absolutely hate going through the closet, especially my sons. He seems to always have an overabundance of clothing. The tips that you gave to go through them step by step will come in handy when we do our spring cleaning.
Like so many others I enjoyed the Organizing the closet tips. Thanks!
I love the make your bed everyday!
Get the Kids Involved
The clutter control…avoid pretty baskets…it’s just gonna make u pile up more things
I love the “When MAIL is your nightmare” tip!
I loved the mail tips. I tend to think I will read some fliers and things I get in the mail and end up keeping them and then end up with a pile of junk mail.
I like the Clothing Closet Facelift
Get kids involved!!! So many parents just go through and toss (donate) even our kids stuff when there may be something they have not touched in awhile but it may have sentimental value.. Also having the kids help saves our energy a bit!!
Young
children tend to drop their toys all over the house. Experts tell us
that out of sight, is out of mind. Children need to see their toys, to
learn and play. Let them play all day. Before bed, have your kids pick
up their toys, and toss into designated storage bins. It will take a
few days for them to get used to the new system, but by the end of the
week, you will have less work, and your kids will be more self sufficient. A win – win situation!
I like the 5 min mail process! We get too much mail almost daily, some junk some to save but I feel like we are being consumed with Credit Card applications and you can’t just throw them in the trash even if you tear them up!
make your bed everyday
just makes the room look complete
Favorite tip is organizing closet and making your bed everyday.
Sort mail when you come in & put recycle items in bin and do not add to yesterday’s pile.
Sort mail as soon as it comes in.
cleaning out the linen closet, i havent done that in forever. i have tons of stuff
I like the tips on sorting mail and keeping it from piling up. I am guilty of this.
The tip about taking 5 minutes to go tru your mail each day.
Today, when you bring in the mail, sort
it in front of your paper recycle can. (or..garbage can, or shredder). DO NOT
add your mail to yesterday’s pile of mail. (We’ll deal with it later)
My favorite household tip would be the closet orginization. I have trouble finding things so that may be my next project! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
sorting thru mail mine just stacks up
Getting the kids involved in organizing is a tip I love following, my kids LOVE to organize b/c we make it fun!
Clutter control!! I soo needed that tip
My favorite tip is something that I already do actually. Make my bed every morning. For some reason, it always makes the bed feel more comfortable. I dunno if it’s the sheets being in the right place, or what. haha
Make your bed everyday! I never do this but i should :)

Making bed every day sounds simple, but once you don’t, it does make a big difference
My favorite tip is: If it’s trash, trash it. If it’s good, donate it. Last year I made a resolution to either throw away or donate at least 1 item every day to declutter. I reached my goal and more!
Sheets: Keep only two sets of sheets, for each bed in your home. (This excludes cribs and baby beds) Remember your reason for purchasing new sheets. Whether it was change in color, style, or simple wear and tear, let go of the old sets.
Clean your makeup drawer! Ha, I tell myself even morning I am going to do this that weekend, and then never do. I just wish I had the motivation I don’t use 80% of it anyway!
I dont let things get out of control in the house , I pick it up , clean it right aways to no big list of things to do accumilates
If you found it in a drawer but haven’t seen or used it in almost a year, get rid of it!! LOL I have got to organize my closet!!

Taking care of mail clutter! Our counters are always covered in junk mail!
Get the Kids
Involved:
Our children add so much to our lives.
Laughter, pride, joy, energy . . and lots of ‘clutter’. Don’t stress the
clutter. Teach you children, to help themselves.
This is the one I have the hardest time with.
Make your bed everyday. I love the snug feeling of climbing into a freshly made bed….Only problem is that I typically don’t do it cuz I’m in a rush to get my son up. Makes a great point that if I get nothing else accomplished in the day, at least I got the bed made :) Gonna try to keep up on that one…Then to tackle the mail problem ;)
