Family game night around here is becoming more and more common. As my girls grow and learn letters, counting, and more, the game selection is also growing!

For this Labor Day weekend I thought I would take Game Night to my parents house is Austin!  Especially after being inspired but the DiptoPlay.com Sweepstakes that I was so excited to enter!  This is SO fun and you guys should take a look!

Basically, you sign up to get a registered account.  You can enter the sweepstakes daily with the daily game ticket. Just share the ticket with a friend and then you are entered!  You can also get entries by entering the UPC Codes from Tyson Chicken Nuggest, Ore-Ida Golden Crinkle Fries (any variety really) and Heinz Ketchup!  You could win 1 of 250 Hasbro Games or the grand Prize of $1,000 Prize Pack that includes gift cards and a HUGE library of Hasbro games! Seriously, you would not have to buy another game for years!

Check out the OFFICIAL RULES before you play!  I’ll see you there as I will be entering daily for sure!

Now back to my awesome Family Game night with my extended family in Austin!  I took my mom to Walmart to look for a new game for the 5 kids and some quick, easy snacks to serve too!

The snacks were easy and I knew what I wanted right away!  The classic kids favorites, Tyson Chicken Nuggets, Ore-Ida Golden Crinkles French Fries and some Heinz Ketchup to dip it all in!  I mean, let’s face it, these are all things kids eat and I knew that everything would be gone in a heartbeat!

Finding these items took no time at all!  They were all on the well stocked frozen food aisle of the Austin Walmart!  If you could get past all of the University of Texas stuff that decorated the store in this proud Texas city (where I grew up but GO University of Houston Cougars!), then your shopping for fun and easy food items would be really fast!

I found the entire selection of Tyson Chicken Nuggets and immediately grabbed my kids favorite – the Dinosaur shaped – found the Golden Crinkle fries and then headed to the condiment aisle for my Heinz Ketchup!  Satisfied that I had enough for all of the kids, my mom and I headed over to take a look at the games!

Let me tell you!  Games have come a long way since I was a child!  I am amazed at all of the electronic games, fun character games for kids and more that are meant to entertain and bond a family closer together!  In this day and age of TV and video games, I decided a good, old fashioned, board type game would be the most fun to play with the kids!

We picked up Spongebob’s Ants in Your Pants and Disney Princess Chutes and Ladders!  My mom and I could not wait to get home and see how the kids liked the games!

At my mom and dads we set the kids up around the coffee table, ala indoor picnic style, and showed them the Spongebob game while the food baked in the oven.  My kids and my nephews, Michael and Christopher, had a BLAST flipping ants into Spongebob’s pants!  We all laughed  and took pictures, treasuring the fact that all of the cousins could play together.  This is something we wish we could do more of, for sure!  As the teams battled it out, the aroma of the childhood favorite foods wafted through the house!

We put the Tyson Dinosaur Nuggets, Ore-Ida Golden Crinkle Fries and a good amount of Heinz Ketchup on a plate and served it to the kids!  Little hands grabbed and enjoyed these special treats and we all talked about how much fun this indoor picnic was for them!

At the end of the day, I sighed and thanked God for these precious little girls, my amazing parents and my wonderful sister and her two little awesome boys!  Family Game night is pretty cool as it is.  But the have them participate in one with us was just a blessing I am happy to have the memory of!
