All you have to do is follow me on Instagram to see how much of a part of the family my three dogs are. Bud, #pamperedPiper and the infamous #oneeyedJack are all dogs that I rescued. Well, I rescued Piper and Jack from an official Beagle rescue organization and Bud from a crawfish boil but I consider them all needing homes badly! The girls and I were more than happy to oblige and we have a happy, furry family that we love with all of our hearts. Because of this, anything I can do to help animals is in the forefront of my mind. So when I was approached to receive and tell you about Banfield Pet Hospital® children’s book titled “My Very, Very Smelly Breath”, I was all over it! This is the second book released by Banfield Pet Hospital®!
This super fun scratch-and-sniff story is written to entertain and educate children on the importance of being a responsible pet owner. I love that this book has a main emphasis on a pet’s dental health. We can scratch and sniff stinky breath, watermelon and more! My girls got the book and immediately went to work reading it to the dogs. It is possible I caught the dogs reading it to themselves too… but just possible.
This is such a fun book!! ‘My Very, Very Smelly Breath‘ follows the journey of dog protagonist Queen Esther as she learns she has very, very smelly breath, and her furry companions Captain Noodles and Kitty who help her find an .easy solution to a healthy mouth. Along the way, families will learn fun and educational ways to involve kids in healthy pet dental habits such as brushing their pet’s teeth (which should always be done by an adult), providing healthy dental treats and scheduling regular visits to the veterinarian for recommendations on the best care specific to your pet.
As an added bonus to spread the message about this fun book, which donates it’s proceeds to helping pets get much needed dental care in the United States, Banfield is partnering with actress, co-host of “The View,” New York Times bestselling author, and star of the upcoming Netflix series “Fuller House,” Candace Cameron Bure. Bure is a pet owner in real life, and understands the importance of pet dental care.
One of Banfield’s core philosophies is ensuring all patients receive the preventive care they need, including proper vaccines, dental care, parasite control (i.e. heartworm, flea and tick control), good nutrition and behavior training. As February marks National Pet Dental Health Month, this book helps explore the importance of pet dental care with an engaging, colorful and interactive scratch-and-sniff approach.
I love this, I really do! My dogs get their regular dental care at the vet and we use things in the house as well to help them keep them pearly white. Get your copy now and watch as your kids learn the very valuable lesson of clean breath for their pets! I bet the message helps you a little in teaching them to take care of theirs too!
