Football season has started but for those who can’t attend games, these homegate ideas will liven the experience for the whole family.

Hosting your first homegate? Try these games, decor and recipes for the ultimate experience.

I didn’t grow up in a football loving family. We never turned on Sunday night football, and I don’t think I ever went to a game with my parents or can recall them even attending a game while I was a kid. In high school I went to our home games solely because I played in the pep-band (yep, nerd right here!).

When I went to college, however, that started to change. I no longer played in the band, and my roommates and friends were big football fans. I may have gone to a few games just to get some cute guys to explain the game to me, but then I got married. We started attending more games and watching pro-games at home with friends and good food. We now let the kids stay up late, and encourage them to learn all about football while they’re young.

I love a good party, and friends just make it all that more special, so I’ve gathered some of my favorite ideas for hosting your next homegate party right here. Go Team!
