Sometimes I get to be the cool mom. The one that picks up the kids from school, surprises them with something really fun and then hits it out of the park when we get to be the first ones to experience something really, really cool! Like… really cool!! I got to be that mom last week when I showed up at school, took my kids out of end of the year activities and shared the NEW Moody Gardens Spongebob Subpants Exhibit with them! We were in the first media group to go in and it was SO MUCH FUN!
The adventure started with a trip to Schlitterbahn, Galveston. After that day of fun, we headed to the amazingly beautiful Moody Gardens Hotel! A night there, breakfast in their amazing restaurant and a shower to boot and we were headed to the brand new exhibit that will make Moody Gardens an even better trip!
Spongebob Subpants is open NOW and comes complete with a trip to Bikini Bottom with Patrick as the captain! The interactive show enthralled my kids from start to finish. Patrick, Spongebob and the other characters talk back to the host and to the audience. They are 3D animated which makes them even more real!
The seats and the theater add to the story as the seats rumble and move with the boat, water spraying along the way! At one point a beach ball even gets tossed into the audience, adding more fun to the entire experience. As we go deep into the ocean visiting our favorite Spongebob characters, we get to laugh and enjoy the ‘genius’ which is Patrick Star. We even went inside a Halo Fish which was so cool for the kids!
If you are headed to Galveston, TX this year, plan an entire day at Moody Gardens. With this new exhibit and all of the classics, you will find more than enough to do and to entertain the kids all day long!
