We live in South Texas, a little ways out of Houston. It is rare to have snow in this part of Texas and even more rare to have schools shut down as a result. But our streets and cars are not winterized for ice so, basically, the entire city shuts down when a Winter storm causes weather conditions we are not used to. Today, I got a call at 5am that schools were closed. So I am trying to balance bored kids, the messy house, a packed work schedule and exhaustion.
