It is safe to say that my kids have every Disney movie ever made. We may even have duplicates. Or triplicates. I can admit it. One movie, though, I bought used a long time ago – since it was securely locked in the vault – and it seriously needed to be replaced. The Sleeping Beauty DVD is now out and if you get it at Walmart, you also get the bonus Diamond Edition with a complimentary bonus DVD! I am not sure who is happier… me or the kids! When we got home with it and then created fun Princess Party Foods for the perfect princess tea party, we had to share!
Sleeping Beauty is one of the original Disney princesses that I got to know as a little girl. Her flowing golden hair and pink dress were always beautiful and her story so sweet. This classic seems like it has been in the vault for as long as she waiting for the kiss from the prince to wake her up! But Aurora did awake and she is out of the vault, now on beautiful and colorful Blu-Ray and you can get her at Walmart!
This last weekend was my middle daughter’s 7th birthday. As a start to the celebration, I took all three to Walmart – Sarah and Megan dressed as other Disney princesses – to get the bonus pack and some other toys to celebrate the release. There was supposed to be an event to celebrate as well but it did not happen. Though deeply disappointed, the girls were immediately cheered up when we hit the Disney princess aisle!
I asked them what they wanted and we, literally, spent an hour getting everything from a Cinderella dress (this Walmart did not have a Sleeping Beauty one), a Maleficent figurine set – you know, so the kids could act out Sleeping Beauties story with the real witch – and other Disney princess items that made the day that much more special. Then we hit the entertainment aisle and got our Bonus DVD pack that includes Disneybound: Sleeping Beauty Style, a DVD that lets the kids follow three girls as they conjure up the fashion of Sleeping Beauty as they prepare for a trip to Disneyland.
When we got home, the girls decided that they wanted to throw a princess tea party complete with dresses and more! So I hit the kitchen to whip up some perfect princess food. Crown cheese sandwiches, strawberry wands and princess popcorn were on the table. See the fun below!
Sleeping Beauty might stick her finger on the spindle again and fall back into deep sleep in the Disney vault. So be sure to get your bonus DVD set at Walmart now so your little prince and princess can imagine and celebrate with classic characters from our childhood!
I’m so sad they didn’t get to see the event, but it looks like they had a nice shindig of their own at home. I love their sweet costumes! #client
