It had been a stressful day when I walked into Texas de Brazil Brazilian Steakhouse in Addison, Texas last month. I had driven 4 hours in blinding rain to see friends, had issues checking into the hotel and was coming down with a cold that was to last the next two weeks. I was pretty harried and wondering whether going out to eat was even the best idea. But as I entered and the ambiance of fun, laughter and elegance that greeted me, I felt the stress start to melt away. The scents of this unique and cleaver steakhouse prompted my stomach to focus and enjoy and, as they delivered one of their signature Brazilian Caipirinha, a drink that will make you forget all of the rain, I knew that this place had been easing people’s stress for 20 years for a reason.
I had been to Texas de Brazil before, at their Houston location, but visiting the Addison location where it all started is just fun and special. I already knew that the food was going to be amazing, that the servers were going to be attentive and that the drinks were going to complement everything on my plate. What I did not remember is how much pride everyone from the hostess to the bartenders to the management take in this restaurant.
Every time I got up, someone organized the table. They wiped it down, reset the silverware – or replaced it with clean – and set the chairs just so for me to sit down. It was truly impressive and added to that elegant feel we all deserve.
Twenty years is a long time in the restaurant world but when you provide amazing foods like Bacon Wrapped Filet Mignon, Pork that is succulent and Brazilian Sausage cooked to perfection, you already have a good plan. Add to that an amazing salad bar, soup bar and wonderful Brazilian inspired sides like Garlic Mashed Potatoes and you may as well be planning your 50th year anniversary celebration!
If you have not been to a Texas de Brazil, now is the time to go. If you have but have not been back for a while, it is time to revisit a restaurant that has all of the elegance of atmosphere and service with the casual dining of home. Want to visit Texas de Brazil?
