The school year is winding down and all I can really think about is how big my girls are getting. Every year, they grow and change and it is magnified by the fact that another school year has ended. But we still have a month or so to go and one thing I can say or sure is that I am ready to stop packing a healthy lunch! Until recently, I had pretty much run out of ideas. But, after hearing about Robinon’s Fruit Shoot Juice, I have been inspired to close the year out with some awesome lunches. One of the ways to dress them up? Little notes of love from mom to daughter in the lunchbox!
Aside from the sandwich, hot dog or ‘main’ dish I put in the kids lunches, I also add fruit, yogurt and sometimes a veggie – depending on my mood. But I often change what I put in their lunches to drink. I get to have some fun there!
Fruit Shoot is found on shelves at Walmart, KMart, Kroger, Lowes Foods, Harris Teeter, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Spartan, Speedway, Meijer Gas, Sheetz, Kangaroo, WilcoHess, Handee Hugo, Family Fare, Giant Eagles, Marc’s, Dave’s, UDF, Traxx, Redi Mart, and J Clarks stores.
As a mom sending her kid with a lunch in a backpack that may get thrown around, stepped on and opened and closed many times, I need things that are not going to leak or break open in the lunch boxes. Fruit Shoot has a new no-spill cap, perfect for children of all ages, and contains no fructose corn syrup. It also contains real fruit juice, no added sugar or natural flavors. In flavors like Orange, Apple, Berry Burst, and Strawberry/Raspberry, I know it will be a hit with my kids.
But back to the lunches I have been packing. Aside from drinks that won’t spill and taste great, food that helps fuel their bodies so they can succeed and snacks that are fun and will encourage them to actually eat lunch, I put a little emotional nutrition in too. A simple piece of paper with a message from me to them can go a long way in making a child’s day!
How do you pack a healthy lunch at the end of the school year? Do you do anything special for your kids?
