Last March my knowledge and interest in Online Security for me and my family peeked with the introduction of Trend Micro to our family. I started out not understanding or knowing much at all and am pleased to say that I now think I have an understanding of why online security is so important not only at home, but on the go as well!
It all started with a little quiz, “Are you Digitally Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” At the time all of this started, I got 11 out of 16 correct and felt that I was NOT smarter. I had not even heard of some of the terms: Botnet, phishing and so many more. But now, eight months later, I scored a whopping 15 out of 16. Not too shabby if you ask me!

Besides learning a TON about how Trend Micro products help reduce the threats on my computers, tablets and even mobile devices, I am much more aware of what I am downloading, plugging into my USB port and sending to others! In addition, I was introduced to the dangers of online gaming – even thorough the XBox in my living room – and the uncertainty of online shopping and dummy sites that can trap your information.

I, for one, look at mine and my kids online activities a lot differently now then when I started! I think that ANYONE with an internet connection should take some time to learn about how Trend Micro can save you, your family and your devices from malicious attacks that are swarming daily out there on the web!
In 2013, my journey continues! Because with every ‘new’ thing out there comes a new threat! So part of my New Year’s Resolution – which is to get organized and stay on task – is to learn even more about protecting my family. And I can not wait to share with you even more that I have learned!
