I am about as crafty as a rock. I think my girls actually have a more creative edge than I do. I can write OK but creating crafts for the holidays are just not my thing. Anything that helps me look like I did something amazing is welcome in my house! When I was contacted by world renown sweater maker, Michael Simon Designs in NYC – who displays his original conversational sweater designs in numerous stores such as Barneys, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and so on, I had to see what he had created. The super fun kit for the uncrafty, like me, that he invented is the MR. MICKNIT Holiday Stick On Patch Kits

There are 4 kits to choose from. Each one includes stick on designs, stick on red and green felt sheets for your own designs, holiday ribbons to help you enhance your project, colored yarn and an assortment of rhinestones, buttons and more. The kits are designed to make your holiday design pop with ease!

I originally looked for sweaters to use the kits on. After all, the inventor is a sweater man. But in Texas, sweaters are far and few between. Being non creative, I struggled with what to make. With these kits you can decorate everything from wine bottles to pillows to laptops. As the ideas churned, I remembered my Football Tablecloth and decided that I needed a Holiday one too!

So I headed to the store – and the fabric department, which scares me a bit, I admit – and started hunting down the perfect cloth. I found a vinyl one that was decorated really nicely. I knew the patches from the kit would adhere to anything so I was not concerned about that at all.

When I got home, I opened my kits and went to work. The kit comes with everything you need sans a needle to sew on jewels, glue for the non stickable art and scissors to cut the felt sheets. I have kids so all items were within easy reach. I let the kids cut out a tree and add sequence ‘ornaments’ while I stuck on the felt decorations with ease. We added the ribbons that were already tied in bows to the corners and wala – an easy tablecloth worthy of conversation and fun at dinner!
