Yes, I know my little ones are not in college. But it is never too early to start thinking about it. In fact, financially, I am always thinking about it! Especially with almost going broke just handling three elementary school aged kids and back to school necessities. I can not imagine adding tuition and dorm fees and more on top of that stress! So saving money come college time will be a HUGE thing for me! But staying in touch with my kids on a reliable network is even more important. That is why I still like Walmart Family Mobile and their Lowest Priced Unlimited Plans, phones and reliable service!
A while back I got my girls a phone to use at their dad’s girlfriend’s house to call me. They used it and loved it and I loved being able to hear from them whenever they wanted to call. Service was never an issue so I can attest to that. For a college kid, a fancier phone than what I bought is needed. Like the Alcatel One Touch Fierce! At less than $100, this phone is awesome for college kids. It is a smart phone with out the high price tag! If my college kid lost or damaged this one, I would be able to replace it easily!
As I looked around Walmart and their entire selection of phones, I was interested to see the competitive value they have. With Rollback pricing and a selection of phones that could suit so many, there is not reason not to shop here first. I liked the Alcatel One Touch Fierce because it was affordable, easy to use and a definite ‘hot’ phone for kids who need a smartphone.
But better than the phone, which is a lot of fun, I might add, is the incredibly low prices for cellular service plus unlimited text and web! At only $34.88/month for Unlimited Talk, Text, and Web paired PLUS a smartphone for under $100, Walmart has the perfect plan and phone combination for those who want to stay connected with their college bound kid while on-the-go. *First line only, price applies for life of the account on the plan.
Now I don’t know about you, but I pay 5 times that amount for my service that has limited web. So if I were sending a kid to college, I would not want to lose touch or have them lose valuable info that comes with Unlimited plans!
In about 10 years I will send my first born off to college. I might be able to handle it by then. And who knows, by 2024, my kid may have a phone implanted in her head. But in the meantime, for all of the moms who have bought the bedding, the storage bins and the college gear, a reliable phone with unlimited service can be invaluable. When it is affordable too, there is no excuse for them not to call you!
How many kids have you sent off to college? Did you survive it all? I would love to hear how you got through it!
