I LOVE to throw fun play dates for my girls! We invite other kids over, pull out our favorite toys, ice some cookies and have a blast! The parents and I watch them create and the kids have a blast. Since one of the girls favorite show on the Discovery Family Channel (used to be HUB on your cable network), is Littlest Pet Shop, we invited the girls besties over and opened up our Littlest Pet Shop toys and they put them together and had a blast!

This fall, LITTLEST PET SHOP empowers fans to “Be who they wanna be!” with a new way to play that offers the freedom to design their own PET SHOP world, their way. Fans can create their own Downtown City, with customizable style sets and figures inspired by the “Littlest Pet Shop” animated series. Fans can collect and stack the style sets vertically or horizontally to create a unique ‘city skyline,’ then decorate and style the sets with Deco Bits — unique, small accessories that plug into the environments for a little added glamour – as well as stickers and other decorative pieces. Fans can also collect and customize 100+ new pets, straight from the entertainment!

Since most of the mom friends and I are all about that play and less about the electronics, having toys that the kids can build, create and then play with is an awesome thing. So to have The Littlest Pet Shop Design Your Own Littest Pet Shop and Blythe’s Bedroom is a HUGE thing!

All 7 girls on hand for the playdate settled in to build. No matter how many times we asked, they did not want or need our help. The little ones quickly started playing with the dolls while the older ones worked to complete the houses. In the background, I had on the Sweetest Pets DVD which just added to their desire to create and play with these fun sets!

As I set up the cookies icing bar – the icing was Cool Whip with food coloring and sprinkles – and served popcorn and cheese sandwiches, the girls played and had a blast.

These toy sets, the DVD’s and anything else Littlest Pet Shop are a must have on my Holiday Gift Guide 2014! They are easy for kids to put together and play with. Some adult help might be needed in the beginning but with the large, colorful instructions, everyone gets a chance to show off their skills!
