I was provided a free trial of the Jenny Craig program and meals. However, the opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I had my doubts, I won’t lie. I didn’t think I could do it. Eat on schedule, eat another meals separate from my kids or feel not deprived or hungry. I really did not think I could do it. I thought the food would taste like cardboard, the phone calls to the consultant scripted and the desire to participate dwindle. I was wrong about it all! Like, all of it. A day on Jenny Craig is not at all what I thought it would be.
First and foremost, I am not a good eater. Not necessarily in what I eat but in eating all together. I don’t drink soda very often, don’t eat a lot of bread or sweets. But I can go all day and never eat a thing. I get up in the morning, get the kids up, feed them, get them ready to go to school, send them off, start working and before I look up, it is 3 pm. Then I eat and eat and eat and eat some more. Hence, my consistent ability not to lose any weight!
The program is backed by hard science as demonstrated by a 2010 independent two-year clinical trial published in the Journal of the American Medical Association 2 showing that participants on the Jenny Craig program lost three times more weight than dieting on their own.
But now, with the Jenny Craig, I feel like I have incentive to finally stop with the excuses and get on board with really taking care of me. Here is my experience so far:
The food is shockingly good
No, I am not lying. There have been a few things that are not my absolute favorite only because I, personally, do not like certain foods, but this food is real. It is portion control over fake food, if that makes sense. There are amazing ideas for making the food go further with add ins and recipe ideas right on the box. On any given day I can eat pizza, cookies, chips and more. I never feel like I don’t want to try something because it is pretty much what I would make at home anyway!
The food is designed to help members experience healthy ingredients and learn proper portion control. Having the structure of a menu with portion-controlled cuisine can help members feel more in control of their eating. It can help reduce the stress of making choices and can create order.
In fact, Jenny Craig just unveiled new foods that are in my house at the moment. I have had most of them and, amazingly, they taste like REAL food!

I don’t feel like I am doing double the work
One of the biggest complaints I have about prepackaged meal plans is that I feel like I have to make another meal in addition to what I make for the kids. It drives me nuts, to be honest. But I actually find this a little easier than it used to be. We all know that we modify our menus to find something our kids like. So, as adults, we sometimes leave things off our plates or add things we don’t need. So I feel like I am actually getting what I need while the kids still get what their seriously burning calories all day long bodies need too!
The consultations are the main benefit
It’s true. I have started and stopped almost every plan. But knowing that I will be talking to Carrie, my Jenny Craig Consultant with 13 years with the company helps hold me accountable. I know that on the days when I just don’t want to do it anymore hits, I will have to explain it soon to her. I don’t like explaining how I can not stay with the program, so the knowledge that I will be on a call with Carrie soon helps me!
As a busy mom it is hard for me to get up and go to a location. So the Jenny Craig Anywhere consultation program is keeping me honest. Carrie will talk to me on the phone, through Skype, when I am on the go or at home. I love it! I feel that having someone who can call even on a Saturday to check in, give advice and support and tell you it is not undoing everything if you mess up, is incredibly valuable!
One day at a time
I feel like I really have a shot at this one, guys. Like it fits into my lifestyle, offers food to satisfy cravings and the support I need when I falter. I am a one day at a time kind of girls and each day, the program makes it easy to sweep aside the excuses and make it happen. I eat 6 times a day and always feel full. Three meals, three snacks – including desserts that make you feel like diets are all about that YUM – and feel like I don’t have a chance to be hungry. I don’t know, after a week if I see a huge difference, but every day my energy level improves, my mood lightens and my body does not feel so uncomfortable.
I can not wait to share the rest of this journey with you all!
What questions do you have about Jenny Craig? How can I help you see if it is for you too?
**Results not typical. Members following our program can expect to lose, on average 1-2 lbs per week. I received promotional consideration.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown. I’ve been wondering if programs like Jenny or Atkins are really worth the expense.
So far, so good, I will get more detailed as I go – and stay honest – so stay tuned for my progress :)
Great feedback! I love Jenny too for all the same reasons. It’s also cost effective, for example, instead of buying lunch at work, I have my $5 meal unless lunch would’ve cost $11.00. Keep going!
Thank you!! I am still loving it!! Look for an update this week!
