Easter is one of my favorite holidays of the year! The sun is usually shining, the girls are dressed up in pretty pastels and the noses of eggs peek around every corner just waiting to be found! And it is one of those holidays that are just a lot of fun to get ready for, too!
As my kids have grown, I have discovered the simple joy of dying Easter eggs! I remember doing this as a child with PAAS Egg Dying Kits. My mom setting up the kitchen table, dropping the PAAS pellets in the cup of water, my stirring until the perfect color was had, and then poking and rolling my egg in the dye until it came out perfect!
Not much has changed with my family except that I now add 3 tablespoons of Heinz Vinegar to a cup of water with the PAAS tablet. Why? Because Easter eggs are meant to be bright and cheerful and the addition of the vinegar makes them so. I don’t know how it works, I just know that it does. The Heinz Vinegar really makes the colors burst onto the egg. Whether it is yellow or blue or you take the egg out of the dye early in the process, they are just brighter! And since it is such an affordable addition, there is really no reason NOT to add it to your Easter egg dying process!
I added the vinegar and helped my kids dunk their eggs, roll them around, pull them out and then let them dry. Once dry we decorated with all of the goodies in the PAAS kit. Stickers, shrinking wraps and more! My girls had a blast and I loved watching them carrying on my family tradition and making it even brighter!

On the app, you and your kids can choose your tablet color, how to decorate it and then send it via email to those you love, print a copy to hang on the fridge or save it in your photos for another day. BUT, please do go dye one or more because for every egg dyed on the iPad app, Heinz will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation!
I was at my friends house the other day playing on her iPad and the app downloads super fast and is so easy to use! My kids each decorated an egg and then we put them in their basket. And then we shared the eggs thus creating our donations! It was really fun and, especially right now, kept the kids attention!

One of the best parts of Easter – coloring eggs (the old fashioned way.) I even started adding vinegar to water when I boil eggs any other time of the year… Something about that just makes them taste better…..???? Or is it just me?
