Halloween is right around the corner. Like…right around the corner. With it comes the need to surprise my kids with something fun to help celebrate! When they are in school, I love to make them the coolest lunches ever when a holiday comes around! Thus was born my Halloween Bento Box for Kids! I have all of my supplies that I bought at Target to prepare it. Wet Ones Single Packs, which are SO important for messy hands after lunch, break, cheese, pretzel sticks and more! Keep reading to see how I put it all together!
Witch Hat Sandwiches
So simple and so fun! Just make the sandwich of your choice, my kids love cheese only, and grab a knife. Cut the crust off. Then cut a strip off the bottom, maybe 1/4 of the whole thing. Cut the remaining piece in a triangle and discard the remnants. Put the top and bottom together and ‘seal’ with little dabs of mayo or water to make them ‘stick’. Add a ‘strap’ with a piece of the crust and wala, Witch hat!
Witch’s Cauldron
To make the witch’s cauldron, add green food coloring to apple sauce and add two candy eyes! Add grapes on a skewer as her ‘stirring’ stick and you have a fun treat all the kids will want.
Cheese Broomsticks
Take a cheese stick or two and cut them in half. Then break thin pretzel sticks and put 3 or 4 in the cheese at the top! Instant broomsticks that kids love!
Add Veggies
I added carrots because they are orange and fit the Halloween theme! But you can add whatever you want as the ‘bed’ of the bento box!
Cookies Make it Pop
I found predone Pumpkin cookies at the store and added them to the Bento box for a little treat for the kids! It gives that little sweet to a box that is fun and a little love from you!
Don’t forget the Wet Ones
After eating all of the goodies, kids need to get their hands clean. But more than a napkin, Wet Ones cleans messy hands and kills 99.99% of germs! Making Bento Boxes for kids may take a little more time in the morning. But the fun ideas and foods included will get them eating with a smile on their faces!
