**The light bulbs discussed in this post were provided by GE by using a free product coupon**
Have you ever walked into a room and turned on the light only to realize the bulb is burned out? Now imagine your a child. And every day is like that. Because your mom and dad can not afford to purchase the simple bulbs needed to make that switch work. Well now you can join GE Lighting and Champions for Kids to help make sure that never happens to any child!
Children in our country need so much. Especially those from underprivileged families. So why are light bulbs so important? Because Champions for Kids recognizes that in order to live a happy, healthy life, light must shine on children. They need it to read, study, create and learn. So donating essentials like GE Lighting light bulbs is just as important as passing on the hand me downs and foods that we normally think of when we consider donations.
In November, Champions for Kids and GE Lighting ask that you – and I – help Light Their Path with a SIMPLE Service Project that takes little time and effort, but big heart and understanding. Gather your friends, family and co-workers to switch out incandescent bulbs for GE Energy Smart® bulbs in your home, workplace and neighborhood. Challenge each person to bring an extra pack of bulbs to donate to a local charity or other community organization. Help families in your neighborhood save energy, money, and the planet! When you do your SIMPLE Service Project and report your story back to the Champions for Kids GE Lighting page, you will be entered to WIN a $100 Walmart Gift Card. Just for sharing your story! There will be a DAILY WINNER! 30 days of giving, 30 Winners of $100 Walmart Gift Cards!

Now that you are convinced that GE Lighting can help save you and a child that really needs someone to help Light Their Path, it is time to get started! I went to Walmart to look for the GE Pallet and pick up some bulbs and other fun stuff for kids. There is such a vast selection that I stood for a while trying to decide which product would best serve the Boys and Girls Country that I am donating to.
Boys and Girls Country is a Christian Home, providing children from families in crisis with love, security, a sense of self-worth, and opportunities to prepare them for a successful life. I have donated to them before and love to give back. They have houses on the property where families can stay with their kids and those houses need light! So I feel pretty confident that donating GE Light Bulbs to them will be very appreciated!
I have put out the call to my neighbors and friends and will be collecting light bulbs and other donations to take to them soon. This really takes very little time but is vastly rewarding to me!
