I have a confession to make. Despite my seemingly handle on my busy life with the kids and work, I am as absentminded as they come. I forget things all the time. The whole ‘walk into a room and can’t remember why’ phenomenon is apparent in my every day life. Case in point. My car. My car has needed an oil change, a good bath and a good once over since November. As in, almost three months ago. But despite my best intentions, I kept forgetting that not only was my car 3000 miles over for it’s recommended oil change, but it also was over for the state inspection and a good cleaning. The main reason I have procrastinated on the most basic of car maintenance? TIME! But the other day while on my way to Walmart, it dawned on me that they have an auto care center. And maybe, juuust maybe, I could get my oil changed while I shopped for my groceries? What a novel idea!
Psst: Houston – right now you can get the Rollback special of $35 for your Pennzoil Oil Change!!
Driving up to Walmart I looked for the Auto Center. It was located around the back of our Walmart behind the Garden Center. As I drove up I noticed all of the specials and deals that come with high quality Pennzoil Oil. I was impressed that the prices were not only competitive to my usual place, but even less. I walked in, my shopping list in hand and checked my car in at the counter.
I was given a lot of options on what to put in my car but chose the Conventional Pennzoil Oil. I don’t drive a lot of places and don’t make long mileage trips. Plus I found out that Pennzoil is designed for complete protection and will allow me to drive an extra of 550 miles per year vs. a dirty engine. This is clearly important for me since I am remiss on getting my oil changed on time. In addition, since no other oil helps protect from friction like Pennzoil does, I knew that I was making the right choice. But if you have a car that needs a little more, check out the options for your Pennzoil choices below:
- Conventional Motor Oil – A traditional oil base, fortified with Active Cleaning Agents™ to continuously prevent dirt and contaminants from creating performance-robbing deposits.
- High Mileage Vehicle – Helps to reduce leaks and oil consumption in worn or higher mileage engines. It’s a motor oil that is specifically designed for new or late model vehicles with over 75,000 miles, to help keep the engines running clean and going strong for a long time.
- Platinum (synthetic motor oil) – Best cleanliness and protection in the Pennzoil line-up. With PurePlus™ Technology, the Platinum® motor oil is proven to keep pistons up to 40% cleaner than the toughest industry standard. PurePlus™ Technology is a revolutionary process that converts natural gas into a 99.5% pure base oil.
After talking to the gentleman behind the counter, I was even more impressed with the warranty that Pennzoil offers. It covers 15 engine parts that may fail due to engine wear or which experience abnormal wear due to friction. (For more information, check out the Pennzoil Warranty Site.) As a busy mom who can not easily handle an issue with my car if an oil change is to blame, I love the warranty most!
Are you more talented than I am and can change your own oil? Starting Wednesday, January 21, 2014, you can get $5 off one 5-quart bottle of Pennzoil Platinum with PurePlus Technology.
I drove out of Walmart an hour after I got there with an oil change, my week’s worth of groceries and a huge weight lifted off my shoulders! I don’t know why I never thought to go there before. In three months, I will head to Walmart to do it again and choose Pennzoil again as well. I like high quality products that guarantee their products!
Are you trying to balance car care and your other errands at the same time? Make sure you take advantage of the Walmart Automotive Care Center and their aim to have more management on site to provide your car with the TLC it needs!
I am all about getting my oil changed while checking a few errands off of my list, too! I’m always at Walmart stocking up on something, so it’ll be a cinch to drop my car off for an oil change at the same time. :-) #client
