Ahhh… take in that breath. That stale Texas heat that blankets the land, aggravating any summer allergy you might have. It’s fantastic. In case you can not sense the sarcasm… it is there. Texas during the summer is sweltering. Though it has been relatively tame thus far, my allergies still flair up any time I go outside and breath it in. The sneeze fest is annoying, to say the least. At least when I am inside my house I can breathe easy. Especially since I have my Filtrete Ultra Allergen Reduction Filter MPR 1500.
My house is prone to a lot of odors. Three kids, two dogs, lots of trees and flowers around. So being able to filter the air in my home to allow for easier and healthier breathing is important. Most filters don’t protect against the smallest of irritants flowing through them house. The Filtrete Ultra Allergen Reduction Filter (MPR 1500) is effective at capturing 90% of large airborne particles such as dust, pollen and mold spores from the air passing through the filter. So I know using them helps me keep my air cleaner for me and the kids.
But let’s face it. I am a busty single mom trying to make everything run smoothly. I often forget to change out my filters every three months like recommended. In fact, my dad was here a few months ago and changed them out and told me they were terrible! So, I need a better way to remember.
Changing them with the change of the season is hard in Texas. We don’t really have seasons. We have Texas heat interrupted by three weeks of cold that shuts the city down. Then back to the heat. So counting on the leaves changing colors to remind me to change them is not going to work. So, I have set my smart phone to remind me, like clock work, every three months. Just in case I snooze the reminder or break or loose my phone, I have also put the reminders on my calendar with stickers. Maybe that will work!
The girls and I love to be outside… even in the heat. But I also love to provide a cleaner, allergen free home for the whole family. Using high quality filters is a start!
