One of the dishes that all of my girls will eat without complaint is my super Easy Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings recipe. In the wintertime, I make this almost weekly. It takes absolutely no time to throw in the slow cooker and with small additions, you can dress it up any way you want to!
Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings always bring back the best memories of warmth and comfort for me. I have used this base recipe over the years to conjure those up and to have an easy meal for the whole family. My Slow Cooker Chicken and Bacon and Chive Dumplings are just one way I can make this recipe pop in another way.
To this recipe you can take away or add anything you want. I have taken the onion away, added celery and carrots and changed up the soup combination many a times. Each meal turns out so well and I never get any complaints!
- 4 chicken breasts, frozen or thawed
- 2 cans cream of chicken soup, or any combo of cream soups
- 1 small onion, diced - or carrots, celery or none
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 cans buscuits
- Spray your slow cooker with cooking spray. Add chicken, soups, onion or additional add ins, and butter. Cook on low 6 hours. Tear up biscuits into small pieces and put in slow cooker. Let cook on low an additional 30 - 45 minutes. Serve
