Welcome to this Deliciously Fun Giveaway- sponsored by Capstone Young Readers.

Dessert Designer is the best creative baking recipe book for kids I have seen in a long time! The best part is children get to use their imagination with crazy decorating inspiration. Not only does the winner receive this great book, they also receive a set of 6 Rainbow mixing bowls and a spatula- everything you need to get started- well other than the ingredients!
Any day—from boring Tuesdays to special birthdays to Valentine’s Day —is better when you have dessert. Dessert Designer by Capstone Young Readers shows creative kids and their parents that it’s OKAY to play your food! Using store-bought baked goods, easy to find ingredients and step-by-step instructions, Dessert Designer focuses on the BEST part of baking — DECORATING! Kids can let their imaginations run wild by turning cakes into roller coasters, cupcakes into glitzy armadillos and cookies and candy into sweet sushi and rainbows (complete with a pot of gold).
Author Dana Meachen Rau focuses on the art of design (not baking) and with her simple techniques and instructions, kids will be able to design and decorate like a pro, with no baking skills or fancy pastry supplies required. The results are whimsical, inspiring, and utterly gorgeous desserts. Check out this cute example:

Muffins and cookies.
My son’s only five weeks old but I will probably bake a lot of Christmas cookies when he is old enough.
He loves helping bake!! Doesn’t matter what it is, as long as he gets to help!
They help every day with all meals. I want them to understand what sauces/gravies/broths/stocks are..I want them to know how to saute…I want them to always be able to cook a few things well enough that they don’t feel like they have to go out to eat to eat decently. My oldest is in college and called me today to tell me about the ratatouille he made for his neighbors…lol..I may not be the most stylish or fashionable, but my kids are prepared for life, and that’s what counts :)
i make cupcakes and cookies with my daughter and she loves it
I *love* to bake with my kids…and they are actually getting so good at it, that they are making really great treats by themselves now. One of my favorite things to make is candies, so we are all starting to do that together more too.
We do love baking together, and do brownies a few times a month. They also help me with salads and casseroles sometimes by helping with prep work. Great little helpers (though they’re not so little anymore!)!
