There is nothing more invigorating and exciting them nailing a workout on any given day. Whether you run, play a sport or work out in your living room, getting and staying healthy is more and more a part of our daily lives than ever before. Regardless of our workouts, however, what we put in our mouths is a large part of our health plan. While I am not going to deprive myself of things I want to eat, I am going to make healthier choices when I can. As you know, my kids love to go to Denny’s. They offer a vast menu of meals that everyone can choose from. But did you know that Denny’s Quality Foods have some amazing choices for those of us looking to watch what we eat, too? And they are so good, too!
I am a huge salmon lover. I make it at home, add it to salads, broil it, grill it, and bake it. So when I go out, I like to think that I am a salmon connoisseur. I order the Wild-caught Alaska Salmon at Denny’s quite often, pairing it with a veggie and some fruit, and love the seasoning that enhances the flavor. You may be surprised that this is wild, natural and sustainable food that can be ordered as a Fit Fare® item with steamed vegetables. It is so good, y’all!
Any meal can be a little healthier if you add a side of seasonal fruit. I love to order a bowl at Denny’s as an appetizer and watch as the kids eat every little bit. Whether is is bananas, grapes and strawberries, or cantaloupe and apples, this fruit bowl is heaping with good decisions. Nothing comes from a can which is awesome for me!
For a great lunch time meal, try the Chicken-salad Sandwich. This home-made sandwich, with fresh, roasted, seasoned chicken, mixed with celery, red grapes, toasted almonds and mayo, is just yummy. It is made fresh and served with a side of happy!
There are so many healthier choices at Denny’s that you may be surprised! From the avocado which is sliced completely fresh in-store, burgers use high-quality, 100% beef patties (at a 6 ½ ounce measurement), and even veggie burgers that are made with Amy’s® organic grain patties, you can eat every meal with the knowledge that you are not ruining your workout!
