Exploring a new place can be exhilarating and exciting! But exploring the city you live in and finding exhilarating and exciting new places is even more fun! I love Houston and it’s vast array of attractions that are fun for everyone. With the clever pack of passes to several places included, CityPass can help me explore everything on a budget!
CityPass is a pack of tickets to an assortment of attractions that you can see in any participating city. It is sold in a booklet and offers a steep discount on regular attraction ticket prices. It is also an excellent way to explore a new city when you have no idea where to go. Hand picked destinations are included by those who know cities best. I bet there will be places in your booklet that you never considered visiting!

Now I am a museum junkie. I could spend a week touring museums everywhere and never be bored! So on a recent staycation in my hometown, Houston, I grabbed my CityPass, my camera and my excitement and headed to the world renown Museum District.
Not far from the Houston Zoo, the Museum District offers a cluster of museums that will educate and entertain the entire family. Teaching children about art, history and more is a wonderful thing. But when they get to actually see it all, it is a truly inspiring education.
After an afternoon of walking through exhibit after exhibit, I decided I needed to sit and relax and drink in the Houston atmosphere. So I headed to the amazing Downtown Aquarium, also a destination in my CityPass book! I never tire of this place and always find something new! After enjoying the eclectic array of fish, stingrays and the famous white tigers, I headed upstairs for a glass of wine on the outdoor patio. It was the perfect place to people watch, check out the Theater District and watch riders on the carnival rides outside scream with pleasure!
A glass of wine and a little more walking around and I was ready to return to the Wyndham Houston West Energy Corridor and relax for the night.
CityPass always amazes me with the array of destinations included! Included in mine were also visits to Kemah, Space Center Houston and more. This is a great way for a family visiting – or on a staycation – to explore a city for less!
I bought one when I went to Houston and it wasn’t a very good experience for me. The aquarium was closed for a special event and it was my last day so I lost that ticket. Then the day I went to the museums was a free entrance day so another ticket that was useless. Then finally the zoo ticket was a waste too! It was on the zoo that we got the city pass and it was towards the end of the day. I wish we were advised that it was the animals’ feeding time because we didn’t see the big beasts like the elephants, bears, giraffes, etc. Anyway, I’ll end my rant here, I guess you can tell that it was a waste of my money.
Ugh – I am so sorry you had a bad experience!! I guess I have had better luck :/
