Here in Texas we are having a wetter summer than normal. While I am loving that my grass is greener than normal and that my new garden is blooming much later in the year than normal, I am keenly aware that even on a cloudy day, my kids and I need protection from sunburns and more. Clouds dissipate the UV rays and give us this sense of safety. But some of the worst sunburns I have ever gotten are on a cloudy day. So as I take my kids to the park, the beach, water parks and more looking for the signs of summer, I have to be aware that just because the sun is out does not mean they do not have to be protected by BANANA BOAT®.

This summer the kids are at their dad’s a lot, so when I have them here, I want to make memories that are amazing. I am one of those moms that let’s my kids out at any time to look at fun things if they want to. A while back, on a road trip, I let them out, fully clothed to play in the ocean. All I need is three sunburned kids in pain as the memory instead of the awesome day!
As a mom there is almost nothing worse than knowing your kids are in pain. But when the pain can be prevented by using the right products, it makes life a little easier. So I am much more aware of the prevention methods needed to make summer stand out as a great time!
