Yes. I know. Summer was too short. We all love the unscheduled fun of long days with a lax attitude about bedtime. But with less than a month to go before school starts it is time for me to get it into gear. Every year I wait to the last minute, seemingly shocked that the first day of school sneaks up on my schedule and go into whirlwind mode while I try to get it all done. This year, I am determined to be more prepared. So as I start to shop for school supplies, clothing for the kids, new shoes and more, I am getting a jump start on my back to school Teacher Gifts. This year I want to add in the essentials along with some decorative fun that the teachers might really appreciate!
Every year I pile up school supplies and hand it over to teachers and every year I get told that school supplies are at a surplus at the beginning of the year. I am told that school supplies donations are more appreciated around Christmas and later in the year as donations slow and people get into the school routine, sort of forgetting that teachers need things all year round.
At the beginning of the year, however, at least according to my teacher friends, things that are more decorative and useful to the teachers are the most fun to get!
I started with the basics, of course, which is a basket big enough to hold the boxes of Kleenex I want to add to the gift. I then went on the hunt for things a teacher could use in her classroom.
Stickers are a must have but I also think a mini chalkboard that a teacher can use and reuse to highlight special things in the classroom is just fun!
Add to that this super cute apple shaped container that can hold paper clips, tacks and any other small item teacher may need for her class and this is the perfect desk accessory.
Because I love classrooms and how creative teachers are in decorating them, I wanted to add a cute sign that they could put anywhere. This little apple sign I found is a perfect addition to any learning environment!
This Back to School Teacher Gift is full of an important essential, some fun items and a lot of appreciation! Let’s hope it helps start the school year off right!
