Thank you to Real Mom, Kerri, for taking her children to A Day Out With Thomas and sharing her experience!

Kerri received comped passes to see this event.  All writings and opinions are her own.

My kids are train kids from way back. As toddlers, the older boys, now 10, actually slept with the Thomas the Tank Engine catalog. Yeah, I wish I was kidding.

My boys sleep peacefully with Thomas

This obsession with trains went on for quite some time, and they passed it onto my little one. I keep waiting for the time when he’s outgrown trains, but it hasn’t happened. In fact, as time passes, he is more and more into it. So, you can imagine the reaction when I told them we were going to “A Day out with Thomas”. Even the older boys looked forward to going.  We’d been when they were younger, and they all ask to go every time we see Day Out with Thomas advertised.  Off to the trains we go.

A Handsome Group!

Here’s what’s so great about the Day out with Thomas. My older kids, and we had as much fun as our little one. While the older boys would never admit it, we all still love the trains, and it’s hard to not be excited when you see Thomas pull up.  Kids skip, hop, dance, to the train!  Today, we got to ride in the caboose, which was a huge treat. We hear the upper seat is the best seat in the house.

Could he be a conductor maybe?

After the ride, it’s definitely NOT time to head home. Since Thomas’ tour brings him to different stations, each experience is unique. At our station, we were able to enjoy the same rides I enjoyed when I visited Edaville USA as a child. The older kids loved the Tilt-a-Whirl and the Scrambler. They all loved the bumper cars and spinning drums. We even spent a ton of time in the playground. There are no fancy playground structures here- just the same swings, slides and see-saws that we had as kids. They also had trains for the kids to play and pretend on. We also fished for a bit- a first for my little one. Stopping for lunch, we were able to enjoy singalongs, story time and temporary tattoos.

I got this train under control!

One of our favorite parts of the day was visiting the Thomas & Friends Imagination station. Edaville USA houses Imagination station in a building which also includes a small cranberry museum. We got to learn a bit about cranberry bogging before we headed off to the Megablox building activities, Thomas videos, arts and crafts and, more trains! We got to meet Sir Topham Hatt on our way out of the station.

My Hero!

Day out with Thomas was fun for the whole family and I would highly recommend it to anyone with a soft spot for Thomas (he’s huge with the under 5 crowd) and their families!
