Nine pounds down. 3 weeks, 9 pounds. It is gone. I have a hard time believing it, to be honest. I have excused it all. It is water weight, it won’t stay off, it is a fluke. But the truth is, I can tell! My clothes feel better, my energy level is through the roof and my confidence is returning! So, yes, 9 pounds gone. And with them, the excuses I use to have that stopped me from being successful. You know the ones. I can’t, I won’t, it makes no sense to me. You know… the ones we always use when we are a little scared, a little confused and a lot down on ourselves. The ones that keep us from trying again… and maybe even succeeding this time? Yea, I am kicking them to the curb!

“It is too expensive’ – Yea, I can see that. It is. But so is a hospital stay. The way I see it, I can spend my money getting healthy or spend it making me better after I get sick. So, yes, there is a cost with making the decision to get up in the morning and to make better choices.  Jenny Craig has made it very easy for me with instant meals that I can even take on the go. The shakes and Anytime Bars are so easy to grab and snack on no matter where I go! So, yes, there is generally a cost to making a decision to put your health first. But I’d rather spend it and feel amazing!

‘I am  never going to be able to make one meal for me and then my family’ – I have used this excuse time and time again. It is so hard as a mom to make one meal for your family and another for yourself. Not only does it seem a drain on time but I find it somewhat hard on my self esteem to admit I need ‘diet’ food while my kids are having what I really want. This is where the variety of Jenny Craig really has helped me. I can have Italian on Italian night, BBQ on BBQ night and Mexican Food on Mexican night. So while I won’t be having exactly what they have, popping a meal in for a few minutes while I plate theirs and then putting my same themed meal on my plate makes me feel less conscientious!

‘I just don’t have time.’– None of us have any time. Between work, family, home, life and anything else that has to be done, we are a very busy nation. I often find it hard to find time to eat at all, much less 6 times a day like Jenny Craig recommends! So yes, I don’t have time and I have slipped a few times back into my old habits of not eating until 3pm. But a funny thing happens when you make yourself a priority. That time to heat up breakfast and lunch and dinner materializes. It is like magic. Make yourself important and the time you need to do so will come!

‘It won’t work anyway.’ – Oh the times I have used this one to excuse myself from trying. We are right, not everything works for everyone. But with my sign on to truly follow Jenny Craig for 8 weeks came my dedication to seeing it through. The research helped. If you google Jenny Craig and Johns Hopkins, you will see that this is one of the few programs that actually has long lasting results! I can see myself staying on it and being happy long term, to my final goal and beyond. So far, so good.

‘It’s not real food’ – Untrue. Just plain untrue! It IS real food that is specifically measured and packaged to meet specific caloric guidelines. In fact, with the NEW Jenny Craig foods, I actually crave meals. The Tuna Salad kit is my favorite lunch and the Ravioli is my favorite dinner! So yes, this is REAL food. It is just portion controlled and put together in your daily meals to maximize your nutrition and help you get to your goals!
