It is time to Shop for Those That Matter at Sears!
When I sit down and make my list for Christmas I am always reminded at how many people help me out all year long. There are so many people in our lives that we sometimes forget about at holiday time but who deserve to be reminded of how they impact our lives in a positive way. Teachers, librarians, the bus driver, the mail man, the UPS man, my housekeepers, my handyman, my yard men and more sometimes get put on the back burner at holiday time. My neighbors who check on the dogs when I am gone, have the eggs I always need for that recipe and are instantly available to help me with the kids, my work or anything else I need, are also needing a huge THANK YOU! I want to say thank you in a great way, but I have to budget not only my money but also my time. So the other night, while catching up on laundry, I used the newly updated Sears App to not only shop for things for those who matter, but to order them, Reserve them and to pick them up in store!
I decided that my sweet neighbors need jewelry. My teachers need a sweet, usable gift, plus a gift card and my handyman, mailman and housekeepers need something snuggle, like soft blankets, for after a hard days work, and a gift card. I found everything I needed quickly and then used the app to Reserve some things in the Reserve It area of Sears, near the women’s clothing department, to try some things on for myself too!
One person that matters to me a great deal and that I owe my livelihood to is Heather of Freebies4Mom.com. She was my first blog employer and has been my constant mentor year after year for me! We now do Twitter parties together (Contact me for more information) and we try to get together monthly to talk shop. She deserves a wonderful thank you and is tops on my list for a quality and personal gift from Sears!
Shopping for those who matter is so important during the holiday season. I think we sometimes forget about the ones we call on when we need something. If we work out of the home, we may forget that the trash collectors come by every time we need them to, on schedule, week after week. If we are busy in our home we may not realize that the mailman comes by later and later each night, trying to get the mass of packages and mail to you daily. If the only interaction you have with the bus driver is when your child won’t sit correctly on the bus you may forget that she has 50 kids to take care of and has to drive the bus.
People that matter are not necessarily in your inner circle or in your lives every day but they are there when you need something with no complaint. I can not tell you how often I call on my neighbors for help. April, Barbara, Clarissa, Elizabeth and Nita are all on my speed dial for a reason. I am honored to say I am on theirs as well but when I am constantly borrowing something or asking them to help with a work assignment or to feed the dogs, sometimes a text with a Thank You is not enough!
So while shopping on the Sears app I saw some beautiful Diamond Halo Stud Earrings and loved them. They were marked down on the app from $99.99 to $39.99. What a deal, right? I could have ordered them right there but instead decided to head to Sears to see them myself. When I got there I was surprised to see that if I spent $19.99 in store that day, I would get the same earrings for $19.99!! So I saved even more by going into the store to pick them up! I love surprise deals like that, don’t you?
Also on the app were super cute holiday mugs and desk stationary sets that I thought would be perfect to put gift cards in and on for teachers, librarians, the bus drive, the gymnastics coach and the tennis coach. I loaded up on them at 50% off and think they are the perfect, affordable, thank you gifts for those who matter!
In less than an hour on the Sears app and less than 30 minutes in store, thanks to the Reserve It feature where you can order ahead of time and then try it on in store, stopping the endless searching for your size and time you want, I got gifts for everyone in my life that matters. That includes a gift of new fall boots for me too! I did it all for right around $100 after I used my Shop Your Way points to reduce my final bill!
As I continue to deliver my very special gifts to those who matter most, I am reminded that this is what the season is all about. My kids have enough but giving to those who give to me all year long is an important thing too and I want to make sure everyone who matters knows they do!
