So I had this review post all written out Sunday afternoon, just needing some tweaking and editing, about how Tec Labs has products to help you survive the summer.
They sent me Licefreee Everyday Shampoo, a daily preventative shampoo for head lice, StaphAseptic® First Aid Antiseptic/Pain Reliever for my kids minor cuts, and Tecnu® Original Outdoor Skin Cleanser in case of an encounter with the oils from poison ivy, oak and sumac.
All great products that I do need in my house year round. Especially since we live on an acre that was vacant for many years and we have found poisonous plants climbing our 100 year old trees. In addition, I have three young daughters that seem to always need a band aid and who could get lice at any day now.
Fortunately – or unfortunately for my post, during the entire month I have had these products, I have not needed them once. Except for one bug bite, and a desperate attempt to keep my eczema from flaring up further, I have not even had any minor injuries that needed pain prevention.
So, I stopped waiting and wrote the review. I talked about how the StaphA+Septic actually worked really well on my eczema, and though the Licefree Everyday Shampoo smells sort of mediciny, I am thrilled to have it on hand now that I will have one starting Kindergarten.
But no personal stories to share with you about how I used them and if they worked.
So, I sort of procrastinated, not exactly knowing how to finish the post.
And then, out of the blue, my neighbor called and said her son had gotten a hold of poison oak over the weekend and the rash was spreading like wildfire!
Did I know of anything that could help him?
YES.I.DID!
I rushed over the bottle of Tecnu Original Skin Cleaner, a specially formulated wash designed to remove the oils from poison oak, ivy, and other outdoor skin irritants.
Now, the label said it was most effective between 2 and 8 hours of being exposed, and we were going on day 4, but we thought it was worth a shot.
My neighbor’s 14 year old son called me personally about 5 hours later and THANKED me for giving him the Cleaner!
He said that he put it on the rash, let it sit as the instructions indicated, and then washed it off. He said he could feel an instant relief to the itching and that the rash seemed to have stopped spreading.
And you know that if a 14 year old boy picks up the phone and calls the old lady next door, and has excitement and happiness in his voice as he thanks her for something, then the product must have caused him great itch relief!
So there you have it, a personal story from someone who actually used the product!
And I can only surmise, based on my instant pain relief from the eczema, and his almost instant ease of the itch and irritation from the poison oak, that Tec Labs has products that are actually going to work when you need them. And I am triply glad I have the Licefree Shampoo on hand now too!
In fact, if you want to know more about the treatment and care of a child who has been infested with head lice, then please check out the great GUEST POST written by Lisa Leverich at Tec Labratories, Inc.! Some really great tips there!
Now that I am confident in the high quality of these products and know that they are not going to break the bank to have them in your home “just in case”, I am thrilled to offer one of my readers the exact same “Summer Survival Kit” that I got!
