The other day I wrote about my morning and how the disaster of it dissolved me to tears. From burned pancakes to a child and her sass, nothing seemed to go right. When I got home I wrote about it, took a shower and then decided that Me Time was long overdue. So I grabbed my McCafé coffee pods and turned on my single cup brewer. I then decided to make myself one of my favorite indulgences ever, Strawberry Cream Cheese Croissants, to add to the spoiling me attitude I felt I deserved. Thanks to my shopping trip to Walmart earlier in the week, where I also looked for the McCafé coffee demo, I had all the ingredients I needed for a few cups of coffee and a delicious treat all in one!
As a single cup brewing master, I know that the pods can really cost a lot. In fact, I have put boxes back that are insane expensive even though I know I will like the flavor. All I want is good quality coffee that will warm me from the inside, wake me up to go-go and make me crave it the night before. Cruising the coffee aisle at Walmart can be fun but choosing what you might like and paying an arm and a leg for it is not so fun. When I saw that the McCafé pods were not only way less money than my normal brand, but they also were made with 100% Arabica Beans, are harvested in the rich soils of prime coffee making regions and that their 8 flavors were available in pods and bags, I knew I had to get some!
I have to say, the price tag does not do the rich, deep flavor of McCafé coffee justice. I would say this rivals the more expensive brands and I know my coffee brands! My favorite so far is the French Roast variety but, honestly, I have not tried a flavor I don’t like!
Of course, having a good snack to enjoy along with your Me Time and coffee is always a plus! My Strawberry Cream Cheese Croissants are so easy, This creamy, warm, melting pastry will make you feel as though you are sitting in a Paris cafe, drinking coffee and soaking up the culture!
- 1 can croissant rolls
- Strawberry jam
- Cream Cheese
- 1 TBSP melted butter
- Strawberries, chopped
- Turn the over to the temperature on the croissant package. Lay out croissants. Add a small dollop of cream cheese, then a dollop of strawberry jam or preserves. Roll them up and fold over or pinch the ends to keep the ingredients in. Bake according to croissant package instructions. Brush with butter and top with fresh strawberries!
This beautiful pastry is the perfect pairing to a hot, delicious cup of McCafé coffee. After that insane morning I just sat, savoring the mix of flavors from the rich coffee and the special treat.

Wow! Those cream cheese strawberry croissants look amazing and I bet they are delicious with McCafe coffee! I love the flavor and have even gotten my hubby to switch over to McCafe now that he has tried it!
