The other day my kids wanted to go to McDonald's for dinner.  We were out and would not be home for a while and so I thought it would be OK just this once.  We hit McDonald's about once a month, I would say.  When in line ordering, one of my kids said they wanted chicken –  but not nuggets – the 'white' chicken, which is what they call grilled chicken breast.  We have it all the time and they love it.

But, of course, there is no option for a kid's meal with grilled chicken.  Nor is there one for a kid's meal with a salad.  And I, for the umteenth time, thought – why can't there be healthier options for kids at McDonald's?

Sure, they have slimmed down the fries and require fruit in every happy meal now, but the 'main course' could be healthier as well.  As I understand it, the happy meals are still well over 1000 calories and that is just too much for one meal. But short of sharing my frustration on my Facebook page, I have no real idea how to make a stand and create an initialtive to make a change!

Well, now, I have Social Power!  Social Power helps little people like me create initiatives online in order to make real change!  See the video below for an idea of how it works:

Sign up FREE for SocialPower.com.  Create your issue on the top of the page.  Add your description and your rational idea and submit the issue.  Then share it on your social networks.  You can support my McDonald's Healthier Happy Meal issue here

Once 1000 people like your issue – and that can happen fast no matter how many friends you have – SocialPower.com changes it into an 'initiative' and then change can begin.  Once an initiative is created, Social Power takes on the responsibility of taking on your issue!  They will contact McDonald's, in my example, and work with them to try to resolve my issue!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!  How many times do you post on Facebook about an issue?  Now you can actually make a difference.  And you can do it with 1 follower or 100,000 followers!

Sign up today and the next time something bugs you or you want change, use SocialPower to your benefit and turn yourself from 'just a person on the web' to a real change maker!
