Every time I think of snack time, the same old things pop in my head. Fruit, cookies, popcorn. Sometimes I want the kids to have something different. Something fun that they will like that is not full of sugar. So when I received New Mott’s Fruity Centers Chews and Mott’s Fruity Rolls, I was excited to see how they went over! Now, as we moms know, introducing anything new to kids that does not have a character crammed into icing can be a hard thing. So I have come up with 5 Snack Time Tips to help moms WIN at snack time! They are easy and fun but most importantly, they help get your kids to try something new!
Choose the right snack – First and foremost, you have to choose the right snacks. Fruits and veggies are great as is but if they don’t care for them, no amount of dressing them up will make them give them a try. If you are like me, you will get frustrated at the whining and finally let them have something much less good for them. But having them get their fruit flavors in a snack that has is made with natural flavors and colors is a good thing! So choosing snacks like Mott’s Fruity Centers Chews and Mott’s Fruit Rolls. I don’t know many kids who don’t like fruit chews and rolls! Choose the right snack and use it to encourage better choices!
Display it for after school fun – This may seem like a no-brainer, but to kids, the more fun it looks to be, the more they want to try the foods! One of my go-to tricks is to put the snacks in cupcake liners! Whether is be snow men left over from Christmas cupcakes or shiny silver, mixing them up can make the snacking more fun! They come in from school and can pick and choose the cupcake liners to enjoy!
Pack it with love – If they kids needs snacks for school activities or other outings, I love to send snacks with a little note. I take pretty paper and cut it into all kinds of shapes. Use a cookie cutter to trace on the paper first and then cut around the line for a smoother look. I like paper that has a design on one side and is blank on the other. I leave my note on the blank side and attach the note using a hole punch and ribbon! My girls tell me all the time that they love getting these little snacks!
Roll Up Snake – I love creating fun snacks with food. Foot Art is the number one way I get my kids to try foods that are better for them. With Mott’s Fruity Rolls on hand, I wanted to create something fun! After trying many things, I came up with a pretty super cute Roll Up Snake! This is so easy even I can do it!
Simply cut and banana to fit the size of the Mott’s Fruity Rolls. Carefully wrap the banana in the Fruity Rolls. Make sure the seams line up to provide the smoothest roll. Place in the freezer for about 20 minutes to give the whole thing some firmness. Using a serrated knife, slice the banana. Place them in a design on a plate. Add a grape for the head, securing it with a dab of peanut butter. Add peanut butter eyes and a Fruity Rolls tongue and you are done! The kids LOVE this! Use this same idea to create flower snacks and more!
Mix it up – Fruit Snack Trail Mix is awesome for kids who want to have a little bit of everything in their snack. Mix nuts, pretzels, marshmallows and Mott’s Fruity Center Chews to a baggie and mix them up. Kids can take them on the go, snack in the car or enjoy them after school! The Fruity Chews add a little punch with their mix! This is a great treat for party baggies and school parties too!
Whether packing school lunches in the morning or providing snacks for after-school activities, new Mott’s Fruity Rolls and Mott’s Fruity Centers are easy wins for mom. These new snacks fun for kids and made with the colors and flavors from natural sources that moms will also love.
