A few weeks ago the UPS man showed up at my door with a whole box of happiness from SweetWorks candies. Now, for those of you who do not know me, a weakness I have had my whole life is Sixlets Candies. Guess who makes them? SweetWorks! And to accompany these fun chocolate treats, they have a HUGE selection of chocolates, tart candies and more! To say I was SUPER excited to receive a HUGE selection of candies is an understatement. To deny that the entire bag of individually wrapped packets of Sixlets® was gone in the first 24 hours would be unfair. But I have three kids. So I had some help.
When a blogger who loves to create fun treats gets a box like this, the ideas swirl around with no soft place to land. but two ideas came to me that I have to try. Sixlet® Cupcakes with Gumballs and Sixlet® Rice Krispie Treats. Below is the later. Enjoy!
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies®
- 1 cup Sixlets
- Spray a casserole dish with vegetable cooking spray. Melt butter in microwave. Add marshmallows and coat with butter. Melt marshmallows about a minute and a half. Stir until melted marshmallow cream. Melt some more if they are still stiff. Add Rice Krispies and stir. Add about 1 cup of Sixlets. Stir. Put in casserole dish and use a piece of parchment or waxed paper to press it down. Add Sixlets over to top and press in to make more even. Let cool completely and serve
I absolutely LOVE this easy and fast recipe for Easter or any other springtime event. The Sixlets ® burst with chocolately flavor as you bite into the gooey treat! My kids and I ate them up and are ready to go to the store and get more Sixlets® to make more!
