How many of you have kids in sports? Whether it be soccer, gymnastics, horseback riding or playing kickball in the back yard, there are many opportunities for your kids to get exercise and have a lot of fun! Unfortunately, there is also a chance with every sport that your kids will get hurt! Each year, more than 3.5 million children under age 14 receive medical treatment for sports-related injuries,1 with strains and sprains among the most common complaints.2
Sprained ankles, jammed fingers, bruised and hurt elbows, head scrapes and more can be a challenge to deal with on the spot! And, let’s face it, treating a child with an injury can be frustrating! Luckily, there is a new product on shelves that can make that a lot easier!
I love the NEW SAFESKIN Kids Sports Wrap! SAFESKIN Kids Sport Wrap is the first colored sports wrap designed specifically for children and teens. Sport some color with the easy to use, stick and remove skin wrap that can keep bandages in place, protect a cut or scrape from re-injury and even stabilize a sprained ankle on the spot. SAFESKIN® Kids Sport Wrap is excellent for first aid applications like securing bandages or splints and protecting and cushioning wounds.* Plus with vibrant colors like red and blue, kids don’t fee like they are being ‘doctored’ so much as dressing in color!
I wanted to see for myself, though, if the sports wraps were easy to use and so I tested them on my very sensitive daughters. These are kids that cry when an easy remove band-aid is taken off! I fully expected tears when I was trying to remove the bandage – and was thrilled when there were none!
The SAFESKIN Kids Sport Wrap is so easy to pop out of the package, making it an easy go to for a crying child! The wrap immediately unsticks from the roll but sticks to the kids skin instantly. This is great because you don’t need tape nor do you need an extra set of hands to hold the wrap while you try to adhere tape or clips. My kids moved around and played with the wrap on their arms and wrists and feet so it does not hamper their play if the injury is not severe.
And when it was time to take it off, they removed it themselves with no tears, no fuss and no complaint! That alone makes this product a complete winner for my kids! These will be a mainstay in my house and in my first aid kits! SAFESKIN Kids Sports Wraps can be purchased at Walmart for only $3.94 a roll!

So yes, she’s brave and she’s doing a great job earning their respect, but I’d rather have her find something a little safer – especially since getting kicked in the face last night came shortly on the heels of spraining her ankle there and needing to go to PT because it wasn’t healing.
What was the question again? :-)
