Back to School is in full swing here and my kids are loving it! The shininess of the new classroom, the new teacher, and the new school bus ride has not worn off yet. But, after two straight weeks of making my kids lunches, my creativity has! So I am getting Great Lunch Box Ideas from Horizon Organics and sharing them with you!
In their awesome packet 5 Lunch Needs and 50 Ways to Please, Horizon Organics maps out some great ideas and foods that can complete your child’s meal without hurting your brain!
In collaboration with Elizabeth Somer*, a nationally-recognized registered dietician and author, Horizon Organicdeveloped a “5 Lunch Needs and 50 Ways to Please” resource to aid in back to school lunch box packing. The list outlines the five main food groups and 10 great-tasting choices within each group to make packing a nutritious lunch easy and enjoyable. Together, parents and children can mix-and-match items from each food group to create a balanced packed lunch. Parents can then use the resource with marked selections as a simple grocery shopping list.
I absolutely love this! I just take my list to the store and I have options for healthier, more delicious lunches every morning! It makes the guess work easier – and we all know that is important!
I firmly believe that Milk is a central component of a healthy lunch. But unless I send my child through the cafeteria line, there used to be no real way to pack it safely.
That is one reason I love Horizon Organics Milks!

I can take a container out of the fridge and know that it will make it to school safely and, even if it gets to room temperature, it will still be perfectly delicious and safe for my kids to drink. And, if you ask all of my kids, the taste is AWESOME!
Huge bonus for mom who wants to get more vitamins and Omegas in her kids without the fight!
When packing your healthy lunch be sure to include the Chocolate organic Low Fat, the Vanilla organic Low Fat and even the Strawberry Organic Lowfat Horizon Organics in their lunch pails!
