Nothing bothers me more than when I enter a store with my girls, one of them sees a toy that is ‘geared’ towards boys and likes it and their sisters say, “That’s for boys!” Why? Why do girls and boys have to play with different toys? Another thing that gets on my nerves is that the toys that are out there try to be too adult. When did 6 year olds have breasts? So why do their toys? This is why Lottie Dolls have made their way into my heart and home. These Award Winning dolls not only promote a healthy, realistic body image but they can do anything they want!

Lottie Dolls are aimed at ages 3 and up and they wear no high heels, no make up and no jewelry. She has the body of a little girl and the imagination that knows no gender stereotype. In fact, all Lottie dolls are modeled on the dimensions of a real 9-year-old girl. Award agencies have taken notice as well, with Oppenheim Toy Portfolio judges bestowing their rare Platinum Best Toy Award three times in 2012 to various dolls in the line.

I received Margaret, a Butterfly Protecting doll that is beautiful, and an extra outfit to dress her in. My daughters were so fascinated and I loved that they grabbed her and made her their very best friend in an instant! I read them the story on the back about how Lottie and her friends love to help Margaret, the gardener at the English Country Gardens, plant seeds and water to make them grow. It is from Margret that they learned the life cycle of the butterfly and the important role it plays in pollination.

I love that Margaret is a scientist and that being in tuned with nature and how it works is something my girls can learn. And should learn.

We also received a sweet outfit to change Margaret into that my kids love. Who would not love a pink lollipop outfit?
