I love this time of year.  The air turns a little crisper, the big fluffy sweaters come out and the holidays, meant to remind us of what we have all year round, start with a flurry.

One of my favorite parts of the Thanksgiving and Christmas, besides creating wonderful memories with my family, is decorating my home and finding wonderful things for my family and friends to put in their homes.

Made of solid wood, the pedestal is the perfect compliment for any decor.  It is heavy and sturdy and I don’t have to worry about my little ones breaking it if they accidentally knock it over.  This high quality piece will add class and elegance to any table, sidebar or Christmas decor.  I have not found anything beautiful to put in it to do it justice as of yet, but I am thinking of a set of multi-sized candles, some decorative balls or even my homemade wrapped treats that I love to hand out.

A perfect message for our home year round but especially beautiful this time of year.  While getting caught up in defrosting the turkey, baking the perfect yams and hitting the best sales, the reason for the festivities can be lost.  We can forget to actually have thanks and let the stress of “getting it all done” take over the joy that is the holiday season.

I love that I have a reminder right in front of me, beautifully displayed and easy to see on a daily basis.  And I love that my children and family can see it too.  With so much to be thankful for: a healthy family, a roof over our heads, great family and friends, I like that I can pass the pedestal and that it will remind me to stop and give thanks!
