My girls and I are using this summer to get our creative on! In fact, they just finished a week of Art Camp and came home with everything from sand art to tie-dye t-shirts! It was nothing but fun. So when I saw NEW BIC Mark*It Permanent Markers that could color and write on everything from plastic to metal, I was all over helping my kids create a fun Indoor Wind Chime Craft with them!
Special Note: The BIC Mark*It Permanent Markers are for adult use only. Please supervise your children closely, as I did, when allowing your children to help with projects.
I have to say that I am extremely pleasantly surprised with these markers. I was extremely hesitant as to whether they really would mark on just about anything. So choosing a craft with clear plastic was a great test!
The first thing I really like about the BIC Mark*It Permanent Markers are that they are conveniently packaged for easy use and storage! The three section case opens in a tri-fold manner and the markers come in and out easily. You just pop the tab open, unfold it and all of the markers are there in vibrant colors ready to use.
With this craft, we received some sweet butterfly wind chimes. I have seen these types of things at craft stores for fairly inexpensive so you can get several and make a whole slew of them! We also received some jewels and ribbon to hang the butterflies when we were done.
I helped the children – and watched them very closely – as we chose and colored in the butterflies. I was very pleasantly surprised that the color now only transferred well to the plastic, but after it dried, it did not wipe off with touching! I really thought that these would be like regular markers where they smear and smudge and transfer ink all over my hands. But that certainly was not the case. And I like that A LOT!
After they were colored in so vibrantly, my kids added the little jewels for sparkle and then I threaded different color ribbon through them to hang!
This was a huge hit in our house and my kids were excited to see the transformation!
BIC Mark*It Permanent Markers are defiantly a must have in any crafting house. With the ability to add color to pottery, metal, plastic, clothing, wood and more, these are useful, functional, versatile and a must! Get yours at your local retailer, online or at your crafting store!
