Reading is the number one thing I push in this house. Over TV, over cleaning up, over everything. If it were not for books, my childhood would have been incredibly boring and I do not want my kids to miss out. The adventures, the friends and the education a child can get from a book is unmatched. With little kids, I am thrilled with the HarperCollins Kids Stages ‘I Can Read’ Books.
My girls have stair stepped the levels meeting new friends along the way. Classic characters such as Amelia Bedelia, Danny and the Dinosaur, Frog and Toad, Little Bear and new favorite picture book characters like Pete the Cat, Fancy Nancy, and Pinkalicious are beloved by parents and children, making the story experience enjoyable for readers of all ages.
I have a learning her letters, learning to read and reading two grades above her level child. The Can Read series lets the kids grow in reading as they complete the levels.
- MY FIRST Shared Reading: Ideal for sharing with emergent readers.
My First level books focus on experiencing the same types of events that the children at this age level experience.
- LEVEL 1 Beginning Reading: Simple sentences of eager new readers.
Level 1 books are filled with characters that have wonderful, silly adventures. They are fanciful and books are packed with humor – just what children at this age love!
- LEVEL 2 Reading with Help: High-interest stories for developing readers.
Level 2 books are for self-assured readers and they contain longer sentences and some challenging words, presenting your kids with whole new experiences in a wider variety of genres.
All of the books are colorful, great stories and are read over and over again here.
Widely recognized as the premier line of beginning readers for over 50 years, I Can Read! books are organized into color-coded levels. With hundreds of titles featuring award-winning authors and illustrators, and beloved characters, you can find books at every stage to engage and excite your child.
