Some crafts are so fun that they have to be shared immediately with anyone who will listen! When it come to these Jack O Lanterns in a Jar and other super fun Halloween Crafts, I have to share how I did it and how much fun it is for me and my kids!
Halloween is just around the corner and no matter what I say, my kids are asking daily if it is time to trick or treat. So coming up with fun, Halloween themed, things to do is important!

Some tips to help: As I mentioned, we found it was easier to cut the tissue paper rather than tear it. Either way works.
I didn’t matter much how heavy the tissue paper was applied. The tea light still shown through even on the jars that had a few layers of tissue paper. It was easier for the kids to place the jars on top of something while they worked on them. A few aerosol cans worked well for us.
I just want to add that this is the first time I ever worked with Mod Podge. As a mom who loves to do crafts with the kids, I really don’t know why I’ve never used this stuff before. It’s AMAZING. SO easy to use, so versatile, and SO easy to clean up!! I will be using this a lot more in the near future. Also, I will be sure to save ALL my glass jars now, because there is no limit to what you can do with some Mod Podge and tissue paper!
I love this one, easy enough for me to do with my little granddaughter. Thanks!
I wish I had seen this post over the weekend! I prefer not to carve pumpkins living in the south because the bugs are CRAZY here. I grew up in New England and the bugs weren’t so bad. I wanted to decorate for fall/Halloween but I just didn’t want to carve a pumpkin and attract extra house guests lol.
This is truly an awesome idea. Didn’t carve pumpkins this year as we are going out trekking for candies. My 10 year old son likes to paint and this would certainly challenge him. Conversation pieces too. Thanks.
You are so welcome!! They are a ton of fun!
Such a great Idea!!! I can see doing this for Christmas too!! Thank you!!
OH yes!!! And we hope to do that too!
