Delicious comes in many different forms. If you are like me, you are looking for delicious in the form of nutritious! It can be hard to find. But, luckily, there are ways to make that balance happen while still enjoying our busy lives.
I was lucky enough to sample, and thus fully become enthralled, with Dr. Praeger’s at the Natural Foods Expo last month. All it took was one taste of their vegetable based foods to take some serious notice. Not only were they not ‘veggie tasting’ but the flavors were competitive with other options I normally choose for my family. So, back at home and fully ready to experience all of their products, I waited for my delivery of a variety of foods and planned a delicious after school snack tray that included my Greek Yogurt Creamy Avocado Dip Recipe!
When you have foods that are fun but nutritious you want to serve them in a way the family loves without adding all the things back in that you are trying to avoid. My kids love the refreshing taste of guacamole but it can get heavy fast. So, a while back I found a Greek Yogurt Creamy Avocado Recipe everyone likes and tweaked it to our liking.
The recipe is super simple but so rich and creamy you would never guess it!
- ¾ cup plain greek yogurt
- 1 large ripe avocado, mashed
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1½ tablespoon chopped fresh basil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- In a bowl, mash the avocado and add all of the ingredients. Mix to smoothness and chill until ready to serve!
Mmmmm what a wonderful and tasty idea!
