With all that has to be done this Holiday Season, I need something educational to occupy my kids. Especially while sitting in holiday traffic or while standing in line at a store! I downloaded the iStoryBooks app for my kids on my husband’s phone the other day and this 4.5 star app did not fail to please! They watched as the lion read book after book! Its a large app and the font could be larger for the older kids to read along (its for 2-8 year olds), but it entertained my kids just fine! And it is FREE!
Download iStoryBooks on Amazon. Before you do, take a test drive of the app on the product page! The reviews say it works great on the Kindle Fire as well!

I’m so glad you posted this! I love doing the same thing with my son to keep him occupied while I do boring adult things. He’s just learning to read so I would prefer something with larger font but am willing to go with this one for now. The first app I got for him was the DISH Remote Access app so he could watch his kids’ programs wherever we were but then I tried it and found that I like it and now use it more than he does. I heard about it from coworkers at DISH but had no idea I’d love it so much. Now I’m moving more to educational apps for my son and so far, my favorite app is the Five Pumpkins app. It has a bunch of educational games my two favorites for my son are ABCs and Sight Words. They both have to do with teaching him to read so it’s perfect.
