If you have followed me at all you know that I have fallen in love with the message and the dolls, DVD’s and more from Monster High. The latest movie and character, Avea Trotter, that comes out of Freaky Fusion DVD is no exception.
The movie is simply awesome. My girls literally freaked out when we got an advanced copy! My 8 year old cleaned her whole room just so she could watch it when she was done. This is the kind of motivation moms like! In the movie, while attempting to help Frankie Stein learn more about her freakycool scaritage, the fashionably fierce ghoulfriends travel back in time to the first day ever of Monster High! There, they meet Sparky, a skullastic teen with an obsession for creating life. But when Sparky follows the ghouls through a killer time portal to modern-day Monster High, the event results in eight of them fusing together into four creeperiffic hybrid Monsters. Now, they’ll really have to work together to control their bodies in the big Bitecentennial Play and stop one of Sparky’s experiments from destroying imperfectly perfect Monster High!
It truly is a fun movie. When I ask my girls how it is all three start talking over each other to tell me. They learn about friendship, sacrifice, love and support.
The doll that we got that comes from the movie is Avea Trotter. She is half human, half horse. She is one of the entirely new class of Moster High characters; hybrids! They are the the creepy cool children of two completely different, but completely clawesome creatures. Avea Trotter is part untamed Harpy, part magnificent Centaur and all about holding her own. A typical stubborn teenager, her sense of what’s ‘fusionable’ really bucks the trends.
I continue to be impressed with the entire Monster High line of movies, dolls and accessories. As a mom who once thought that these dolls might be inappropriate for my kids, I have learned that the lessons they promote are the ones I want them to learn. Everything is centered around friendship and acceptability and loving yourself for who you are!
