I love my children. I love my parents. I love my family. But the glue that holds my day to day life together are my neighbors. They are my best pals and, at any given time, if I need them, they are here. From the simple things, like watching the kids while they play so I can run in to check on dinner, to killing snakes that make it into my yard. I would not be where I am today if it were not for their love and support! I never feel like I do enough to show them how much I appreciate them! Luckily, on Valentine’s Day, I get to at least celebrate one neighbor appropriately because it is also her birthday! With help from M&M’s® Strawberry, a DOVE® Valentine’s Day tin and American Greetings® Valentine’s Day greeting cards from Walmart, I made some delicious Mini Valentine Bundt Cakes and created a fun Valentine Birthday gift I know she will love!
Let’s start with the Mini Valentine Bundt Cake recipe. It is so easy and the M&M’s® Strawberry make it super special. This is an easy recipe that you can make your way any way you want! For instance, I like to make my cakes with applesauce instead of oil to make it a little fluffier!
- 1 box cake mix
- ⅓ cup applesauce
- 3 egg whites
- 1 ¼ cups water
- 1 cup M&M's® Strawberry
- Store bought cookie icing
- Heat oven to 350 degrees and spray a mini Bundt pan lavishly. Mix the ingredients, except the cookie icing, in a bowl. Add the cup of M&M's® Strawberry at the end, crushed or whole. Blend. Add mixture to mini Bundt cake molds. Bake 14 – 17 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool. Use the cookie icing to ice, adding a dollop in the middle. Add M&M's® Strawberry to the top to decorate!
Once the cakes are done, it is time to put the rest of the goodies together.
The DOVE® Valentine’s Day tin needs no enhancement. Full of some of the creamiest chocolate on the planet, its metal, heart shaped, shell adds a shiny smile to any Valentine’s Day. There are several varieties available but I chose the classic Milk Chocolate tin. Adding this to any Valentine gift is a no-brainer.
I do not know a single person that would not love to get a Valentine’s Card! American Greetings® at Walmart has a variety for spouses, grandparents, teachers and even Valentine birthday cards! I found two, one for my neighbor and one for a family member, and added a little note of appreciation inside! It is a great addition to the basket!
M&M’s® Strawberry in a Mason jar rounds out the basket! They are so pretty and already in Valentine colors! So I just added a pretty bow and tucked it into the basket. Some flowers and a huge red bow makes the basket pop!
Valentine’s Day is more than a day to show your appreciation to those you are in love with, but it is also a great time to show appreciation to those who are in your life that make it work! Head to Walmart and pick up all of the supplies you need to make someone’s day that much more wonderful!
