In the year or so since my divorce, I have been trying to not only get my life back in order, but also change my and the girl’s environment so that we feel new breath coming into the home. Part of that has been the process of selling all of the old furniture in the home – that we bought from him mom years ago and was never my style – and replacing it with more of what the girls and I like. Another part is bringing color back into this 30 year old home that was lacking character.
A month or so ago, I decided to bite the bullet and hire painters to come in and paint color everywhere! My office, the girls rooms, the hallways. This house needed a color lift badly! Since I spend almost all day in my office, I wanted a soothing color. So I picked a light blue that was peaceful to look at. And it is beautiful.
But, even with the color, the walls needed some sprucing up. Some decor. And since I am no designer, I needed something that was decorating made easy and fast! Enter WiseDecor.com and their huge line of wall decals that are wonderful for every room in your home!
I was lucky enough to be asked to choose a wall decal and report back to you on how I liked it. Well… I love it!
I chose a saying already on the site, “It is by writing everyday that one becomes a writer.’ Since my ultimate dream in life is to one day write – OK, finish -a novel, I want to have my reminder of my dream on my wall to look at every day. So thin was perfect.
I chose a pretty font and a deep blue color that would compliment the new light blue walls. Adhering it was super easy. One day, when my neighbor was over, we taped it to the wall and slowly peeled off the decal to see it appear as if it were painted right on the wall for me. It is so so pretty and acts as a great eye attraction to the room.
I absolutely love this and am looking all over my house for more walls that need a pretty decal to dress them up!
