We all have our favorite holiday snacks and appetizers that we put out for parties we attend or throw. But sometimes I like to shake it up. I like to roam the aisles of Walmart looking for inspiration that will create that one dish that everyone remembers. Like my Asian Inspired Christmas Tree Appetizer featuring Tai Pei Egg Rolls AND Tai Pei Spring Rolls. Using the delicious sauce that came in the boxes along with a super simple one I created too, I put on my creative cap and came up with a delicious, fun appetizer that no one will see coming!

If you have not tried Tai Pei Egg Rolls AND Tai Pei Spring Rolls, then you are missing out on some restaurant-inspired foods that will bring the take out to you. The crispy and flavorful wrappings hide inside warm and tender pork, chicken, veggies and more. Every bite will make you feel as if you stopped into your favorite Asian restaurant for homemade flavor.
For my tree, I wanted some contrast. So the larger Tai Pei Pork Egg Rolls seemed to be a good choice beside the Mini Tai Pei Spring Rolls. Plus, I can not resist a good Egg Roll. Using them as an outline for the tree was really just an excuse! They are amazing just by themselves right out of the oven!
I filled the tree with the Mini Chicken Spring Rolls. They are lighter in color as their wrap is thinner and the contrasting flavors will be a hit with anyone. I used yellow bell pepper, grape tomatoes and broccoli to add a star and some ornaments to the tree. I then used a square dip dish for the ‘trunk’ with the sauce from the box in it. In hindsight, I wish I had used my soy sauce that I add Worcestershire and purple cabbage into to make the trunk brown, but the red actually added a nice contrast. But really, the sauce that comes with the rolls is amazing!
Speaking of my super juiced up soy sauce, all I do is add a few tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce and some chopped purple cabbage to it. When you dip the Tai Pei into it, especially if it is already bitten into, the soaked cabbage will attach to the roll and make the bite that much more intense!
I love that Tai Pei uses fresh cut veggies and real chicken and pork to make their Egg and Spring rolls the absolute best they can be! Shaking up traditional Christmas appetizers with this one will surely make you the star of the show!
How can you think to add Tai Pei into a festive holiday meal or appetizer! I would love to hear your ideas!
